Now I know what you are thinking, this should be simple and straightforward. With the Tennessee Titans drafting Corey Davis in the first round, and an offense that struggled to have a primary receiver, it should be him. However, with a number of weapons on the offense, it is actually the other receiver they drafted, Taywan Taylor. As I stated before, the Titans hooked up Marcus Mariota with multiple offensive weapons. Nevertheless, with the amount of play action, as well as teams doubling against Davis and Walker, Taylor is destined for a breakout year. Additionally, for a rookie slot receiver, this will be a difficult task.

The Tennessee Titans drafted Taywan Taylor in the third round from Western Kentucky University and is a dominant receiver who made his name very well known with big catches in clutch moments. Taylor broke numerous school receiving records, including career receptions, season receptions, yards, and touchdowns. Taylors last year at Western Kentucky University he had 98 receptions for 1,730 yards with 17 touchdowns. With the current roster, Taylor will most likely be in the slot, but this will help him have big plays down the middle of the field. With an offense, that has multiple weapons with receivers and running backs, defenses will be leaving someone open across the middle. Taywan also has the ability to be very explosive after the catch. Taylor ran a 4.50 at the combine and is very physical especially since he is 5’11 and around 200 pounds. Taylor made big catches across the middle in college and is going to need to do the same thing for the Titans.

Taylor will not be a big name receiver like Julio Jones or Odell Beckham Jr. Although Taylor has the potential to be a Wes Welker or Brandon Stokley and make big time catches in clutch moments to win games. I am not one for making predictions, but Taywan Taylor will have over 600 yards and seven touchdowns. Although it does not seem like a lot, for a slot rookie receiver, this is a big accomplishment. This is the reason why Taywan Taylor is my potential breakout candidate for The Tennessee Titans for the 2018 season.
