DETROIT – Thanks to another record-setting day from Calvin Johnson, the Detroit Lions (8-4) defeated the Chicago Bears (5-7), 34-17 on Thanksgiving Day.

GOODCalvin Johnson became the fast wide receiver in NFL history to reach 10,000 yards in catching nine passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns in the first half, surpassing Torry Holt, who did it in 116 games. For the game, Johnson finished with 11 catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

Golden Tate continued his strong play as the No.2 wideout for the Lions in catching eight passes for 89 yards. Running back Joique Bell—filing in for an injured Reggie Bush—finished with 91 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns. For the Bears, tight end Martellus Bennett was one of the lone bright spots on offense in catching eight passes for 109 yards. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery caught nine passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns.

BAD – Embattled—and maligned—Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, struggled once again in going 31-of-48 for 280 yards passing with two touchdowns and two interceptions, while averaging 5.8 yards per attempt and finishing with a passer rating of 76.7

UGLY – Chicago Bears dual-threat running back Matt Forte, finishing with a meager 58 total yards—six yards rushing on five carries, 52 yards receiving on six catches. Bears wideout Brandon Marshall caught six passes for 42 yards.

TIDBITS – Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford set career highs in completion percentage (84.6) attempts (26) and completions (22) in the first half in passing for 275 yards and two touchdowns. For the game, Stafford finished 34-of-45 for 390 yards.
