Sexy, slippery and seductive are the words one will come away with after watching Russian actress, Svetlana Khodchenkova (Tinker Tailor Solider Spy) in her performance as Viper in “The Wolverine”

Directed by James Mangold (3:10 To Yuma), The Wolverine is loosely based on the 1982 Chris Claremont/Frank Miller (Legends Of The Dark Knight, Sin City) limited-edition story arc of Logan/Wolverine in Japan.

While Hugh Jackman (Les Miserables, X-Men Origins : Wolverine) is the main headliner and marquee attraction in this latest X-Men film—thanks to his hulking and well-defined physique—the sexy siren Khodchenkova manages to steal the show as a femme fatale seductress who manages to steal something else even more precious and vital to Logan(SPOILER ALERT!).

Not well-known in the United States, the 30-year-old Khodchenkova was known for her work in Love in the City, Love in the City 2, Office Romance, Our Time and now stars in the TV series Lavora’s Method.

It would not be until her turn as Irina in the 2011 spy film, Tinker Tailor Spy, that she would appear on the American movie radar.

Thanks to her performance in The Wolverine, American audiences could soon become a lot more familiar with Khodchenkova as she has two upcoming movies the recently announced, The Royal Killer as Maria Gardini and Suspended Chronicles as Eva Stalkovich, which is now in production.

Her performance as Yashida Industries scientist Dr. Green who (SPOILER ALERT!) manages to negate Logan’s healing factor by inserting a micro-robot to his heart showed her versatility as being both beautiful, deadly and leather, much like her reptilian moniker, Viper suggests.

It is rare that an X-Men movie has a solid story(see X-Men Origins : Wolverine), good acting a pulse-pounding score by Marco Beltrami (3:10 To Yuma) and a mortal Logan in Japan, thanks to Khodchenkova’s slithery scene-stealing turn in The Wolverine–minus the Poison Ivy-like inspired wardrobe, what more could you ask for right?
