With week three of the NFL in the books, here are the inaugural InscriberMag’s NFL Power Rankings.
1. Cincinnati Bengals (3-0): Thanks to a 33-7 thrashing of the Tennessee Titans, the Bengals solidified their spot as top cat. Capable game-managing quarterback in Andy Dalton, dynamic offense in A.J. Green, Giovanni Bernard, Mohamed Sanu and a fierce pass rush. Cincinnati is clicking on all cylinders.
2. Philadelphia Eagles (3-0): With triggerman Nick Foles running Chip Kelly’s high-powered offense, which features a dynamic 1-2 ground attack of LeSean McCoy, Darren Sproles wideouts such as Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper and rookie Jordan Matthews, the Eagles will be hard to stop.
3. San Diego Chargers (2-1): After upsetting the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, 30-21 at home, the Chargers flew east and made easy work over a talented Bills squad, 22-10.
4. Seattle Seahawks (2-1): After a 30-21 loss to the San Diego Chargers down the coast, the defending Super Bowl champs reasserted themselves at home in besting Peyton Manning and the visiting Denver Broncos, 26-20 in overtime.
5. Denver Broncos (2-1): Memo to Peyton Manning: pray that the Seahawks don’t come out of the NFC, because they have your number.
6. Arizona Cardinals (3-0): Fluke or no fluke, the Arizona Cardinals stand all alone atop the toughest division in the NFL. A win over the Denver Broncos at Mile High, makes the Cardinals legit.
7. Chicago Bears (2-1): After a shocking upset at home against the Buffalo Bills in week one, the Bears have rebounded nicely with to wins on the road in both Silicon Valley vs the Niners and North Jersey vs. the Jets.
8. Detroit Lions (2-1): A bit high for the Lions perhaps, despite a 24-7 loss to the Carolina Panthers, the Lions got a big win against NFC North nemesis, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
9. Atlanta Falcons (2-1): Devin Hester proved to still be ridiculous on igniting the Dirty Birds’ 56-14 rout of the hapless Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
10. Houston Texans (2-1): A bit of a shock at No.10, but J.J. Watt, Arian Foster and Ryan Fitzpatrick make the Texans the early class of the AFC South, despite a 30-17 loss to the struggling New York Giants.
11. Baltimore Ravens (2-1): After dispatching of the arch-rival Steelers on Thursday Night, the Ravens would hold off the feisty and upset-minded Cleveland Browns on the road, 23-21.
12. New England Patriots (2-1): After an impressive 30-7 road win vs. the Minnesota Vikings, the Patriots eeked out a 16-7 win against the still-bitter Oakland Raiders.
13. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1): Don’t look now, but it looks like the Black and Gold got their mojo back in Charlotte in a 37-19 thrashing of the Panthers. Plus getting James Harrison back out of retirement will be sure to help.
14. Carolina Panthers (2-1): A 37-19 home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers is enough to bring even the might Cam Newton back down to earth.
15. Buffalo Bills (2-1): Despite losing 22-10 to the Bolts at home, Buffalo has potential on both defense and in the new offensive core of EJ Manuel, C.J. Spiller and Sammy Watkins.
16. Dallas Cowboys (2-1): Despite having a suspect defense, Dez Bryant, Tony Romo and DeMarco Murray will help carry the load on offense.
17. Indianapolis Colts (1-2): Looking up at the division rival Texans is one thing, turning around and crushing the young Jags 44-17 gives the Colts some much-needed relief.
18. San Francisco 49ers (1-2): A brawl between fans in the stands during a road loss to the Cardinals has the Niners now fighting and scraping to stay alive in the top-heavy NFC West.
19. New Orleans Saints (1-2): After a last-second loss to the Cleveland Browns, the Saints appear to be getting back on the right track after a 20-9 win over the Vikings.
20. Green Bay Packers (1-2): A 19-7 road loss to the Lions has many in Chesseland nibbling on their bratwursts right now, and a earl-season showdown with the much-hated Bears in Chicago looming.
21. New York Giants (1-2): After two uninspiring loss to Detroit and Arizona, Eli Manning got a much-needed win against the AFC South-leading Texans, 30-17.
22. Kansas City Chiefs (1-2): A much-needed 34-15 road win vs. the Dolphins, helps the Chiefs forgot about the loss of All-Pro tailback Jammal Charles
23. Cleveland Browns (1-2): Feisty and fun to watch, losing to the Baltimore Ravens showed that Brian Hoyer is the man in Cleveland and how overrated Joe Haden is.
24. New York Jets (1-2): A 27-19 loss to the Chicago Bears shows that Gang Green ain’t ready for primetime.
25. Miami Dolphins (1-2): Thanks to a 34-15 bashing at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, talk of Ryan Tannehill going to the bench will only continue to gain steam.
26. Washington Redskins (1-2): Despite a heroic effort from Kirk Cousins, he is no franchise savior, neither is RGIII.
27. Tennessee Titans (1-2): Jake Locker is clearly not the man in Tennessee. Thanks to a 33-7 thrashing at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals, and his declining passing numbers—as he went 17-of-34, 185 yards and two interceptions—Locker’s days in Tennessee are numbered.
28. St Louis Rams (1-2): A shove from tight end Jared Cook towards quarterback Austin Davis is another example of how bad the Rams season is going to go.
29. Minnesota Vikings (1-2): Adrian Peterson de-activated indefinitely, Matt Cassel on IR, hello Teddy Bridgewater!
30. Oakland Raiders (0-3): Derek Carr may be the only bright spot on an otherwise sad Raiders team.
31. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3): That didn’t take long, thanks to the Colt’s 44-14 white-washing of the Jags, expect to see Blake Bortles under center going forward.
32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-3): With Josh McCown out with a thumb injury, is Tampa Bay ready for the Mike Glennon era to begin?
