Juventus completed a £7.6m move for former Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez. Also, Juventus brought in Spanish striker Fernando Llorente.

These moves gives the Old Lady plenty of power and options up front for next season’s run at the Scudetto and Champions League glory.

Tevez and Llorente will be fighting for positions up top with Alessandro Diamanti, Juan Camilio Zuniga, and Kwadwo Asamoah. Juve manager Antonio Conte will have an extremely hard decision deciding who should play and which group of strikers to partner up.

That decision would be made much easier if Conte could play four out of five of his strikers in one formation though.

Conte could deploy a 3-3-4 formation next season. Even though this formation is typically used near the end of a game when a team is badly in need of a goal, this writer believes Conte could deploy this successfully throughout an entire game and season.

Four out of the five Juventus’ forwards paired together in a 3-3-4 would overpower opponents with pace, strength, technical ability, and creativity. Serie A opponents would have to deal with four major goal scoring threats all on the pitch at the same time, which would be overwhelming for a defense.

Andrea Pirlo would have a field day picking out targets up top from deep in the midfield. His great ability to pick a pass will greatly help the Juventus strikers score and keep possession.

Playing the 3-3-4, Juventus will have to keep possession the majority of the game to avoid major fatigue from the midfielders and defensive players. Pirlo will be the man who orchestrates the ball movement and scoring chances.

Also many Italian sides use a three-man defense and playing with four forwards would cause many changes in formation and playing style throughout the league.  This would cause many teams to move players around and even leave some of their normal starters out.

For the 3-3-4 to be successful, the four strikers must constantly press the opposing team when not in possession. The strikers will have to be in phenomenal shape and want to play constant defense. Tevez has been known to slack on the defensive side on the ball so Conte must get him to buy into team defense.

The constant running and defensive pressure will no doubt take a toll on the strikers, meaning Juventus must go after another striker if they wish to play in this formation as they have been linked to Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic.

Signing Jovetic would mean another proven striker who could play in the middle or outside. Jovetic’s mobility would make it very possible for Conte to play the 3-3-4.

The 3-3-4 would shake up the Serie A and the UEFA Champions League as Tevez’s presence would  give opponents a tough team to defend. This change in formation could lead to the Old Lady lifting multiple trophies at the end of the season.
