Ronda Rousey eliminated all doubt that she is the best women’s athlete on the planet after last night’s dominant victory of Cat Zingano in the main event of UFC 184 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Zingano tried shocking the women’s champion with a flying knee as soon as the opening bell rang. Rousey was ready, and quickly avoided the knee, engaged in a brief scramble on the ground and then forced Zingano to tap out to her signature arm bar in 14 seconds.

Their may be a long line of contenders waiting and willing to get the next shot at Rousey, but sadly, I’m not sure it will matter as she continued to be in a class by herself. Jessica Evil Eye from Cleveland, is one of the top contenders for the title, and one who can engage in standup with Rousey if the two were to go into battle.

In the mean time, Rousey has agreed to take a quick break from the UFC, to film a movie before she gets right back to work. Also on the card was Holly Holm making her debut against Raquel Pennington. In what was supposed to be a blowout, ended up being a razor-thin split decision win for Holm who looked almost flat in her much anticipated UFC debut. Holm will have a long way to go before she can even ask for a shot at Rousey, Dana White even admitted as much in the post card presser.

Josh Koscheck may have fought in the UFC for the last time last night, as the former number 1 contended for the UFC welterweight title, lost his fourth straight fight, this time at the hands of Jake Ellebberger. It was only the second time in his UFC career, that Koscheck had lost by tapout.

He will have some serious soul searching to do before fighting again.

UFC Lightweight Tony Ferguson also continued to impress with a decisive first round submission win over UFC veteran Gleison Tibau. Ferguson is one to watch in the ever crowded and talented UFC Lightweight division as the win brought his record to 18-3 and 8-1 in the UFC.

The card was clearly highlighted by the incredible performance of Ronda Rousey, as she added another huge stepping stone in her legacy. Between that, and the Brock Lesnar sighting, this UFC 184 fight card will have fans talking for a long time.

Until next time fight fans! No Blood : No Foul
