We are got less than two months to go until the historic UFC 205 that is being held at Madison Square Garden. It will be the first UFC event to be held in New York after the NY legislative decided to drop the ban from it. The card is slowly being announced as there are a lot of big names on the card in for this event. However, there is one huge name that won’t be appearing on the card.

On a card featuring Donald Cerrone, Rashad Evans, and Long Island’s own Chris Weidman there is one big name that won’t be featured on the card. Several reports are going around within the last few hours that are claiming that Conor McGregor will not be on the UFC card, according to MMAjunkie.com. A few weeks ago, rumors were going around that he would be facing Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight belt, but that is not the case as of right now. UFC president Dana White has now gone on the record to deny that Conor will not be fighting Eddie. Dana White has now gone on record to saying that Eddie Alvarez would be defending his be against long-time number one contender Khabib Nurmagomedov.

What is interesting to note though is the reason why Conor won’t be on the UFC 205 card. According to several rumors, Conor McGregor’s participation at UFC 205 was being dependent on him giving up his featherweight title. This happens to be an interesting demand from the UFC as the one year mark of him defending the belt has not been met yet.

Here is the basic part to be taken that UFC is telling Conor McGregor that he needs to fight interim champ Jose Aldo or drop his belt. It should be noted that McGregor is not on board with this idea. He is one of the most active fighters currently on the UFC roster and is trying to become the first fighter in the history of the UFC to hold two belts at the same time.
