No matter who is at center, winning games will always come down to who makes the least amount of mistakes. The Washington Redskins will go to 1-2 because of that, losing to the Philadelphia Eagles 37-34.

Backup QB Kirk Cousins played an impressive game with 30 completions for 427 yards.  Running back Alfred Morris had 23 rushes for 77 yards. However, it was special teams once again that drew a blank on the field, as kicker Kai Forbath missed a 33-yard field-goal with 10:11 left and the score tired at 27-27, after making 18 straight.

Adding to that misfire, Cousins failed to produce big plays in the fourth quarter like the 81-yard pass to DeSean Jackson late in the third.

Cousins most-noted errors seemed to be nailing his receivers downfield, which looked off target at times, throwing behind the receivers. The loss also shows how the Redskins fare against a team that was way better than the Jacksonville Jaguars.

However, Cousins performance showed he is more comfortable in Jay Gruden’s offense than Robert Griffin III. And even though he needed this win to make a statement, his stats will speak for him. Not a bad start for the backup, as RG3’s position remains secure…for now.
