Let’s be honest for a second. The Washington Redskins have simply looked pretty awful thus far this season. After being embarrassed on Sunday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers in week one, the Redskins once again lost at home 27-23 against the Dallas Cowboys last week. This week the team takes to the road, traveling to New Jersey to take on NFC East opponent New York Giants. The Giants are coming off a 16-13 win against the New Orleans Saints.

The Giants defense was pretty terrible last season. But this off-season, the front office went out and spent a boatload of cash to upgrade the unit, and boy oh boy is it paying off. It has been the defense, not the offense that has led the Giants to two victories to open the season. The unit looks much better, which was expected given all the moves made this off-season. The offense still has weapons too, with Odell Beckham Jr paired with rookie Sterling Shepard and the returning Victor Cruz.

As far as the Redskins go, their offense has not looked that great behind a shaky Kirk Cousins. The defense has not been much better. At least this week it sounds like top corner Josh Norman will be covering the opposing team’s big receiver in OBJ. Those two have some serious trash talking history, and it would not be a surprise to see them go at it once again.

While nearly all signs point to the Giants being the better team, because they are, I cannot shake the feeling that Washington will show up this week. My gut is telling me the Giants by 3, even though my brain points to this being an easy win for the G-Men. So I certainly expect the Giants to win, but I am going with my gut and saying they will not cover.
