Woman Crush Wednesday: Why Supergirl Melissa Benoist can save me anyday

You should never judge a book by its cover. If I was, I would have missed out on the stunning beauty that is, Melissa Benoist. As a Smallville fan, I was hooked on Supergirl’s character, Laura Vandervoort, but Benoist came in and showed me that out with the old and in with the new fits perfectly in the “crush” department as well.

Benoist was born in Houston and raised in Littleton, Colorado. She is the daughter of Julie Renee (Smith) and James Logan Benoist. Benoist has two sisters, Jessica and Kristina. She graduated from Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colorado in 2007, and from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City in 2011.

Benoist got her taste of acting early doing stage plays in her hometown but once arriving in New York it all changed as she was giving a part in the movie, Tennessee in 2010. After Tennessee, she went to the small screen with a series of cameos in shows like The Good Wife, Blue Bloods, and Homeland until she landed a recurring role on the hit show, Glee.

In between TV gigs the beautiful, 27-year-old Libra (same as me) took parts in a few more movies before landing her big role in CBS’s Supergirl. As Supergirl heads over to the CW Network, we should expect her star rise even more. Benoist, when not fighting crime spends time with her husband, Blake Jenner who she met while on the set of Glee.

Women say the love a man in uniform. However, I have a crush on a woman in blue tights and a red cape.

Supergirl/ Melissa Benoist is my Woman Crush Wednesday.
