INSCMagazine: Get Social!

This Sunday, RAW presents Clash of Champions to replace Night of Champions. When WWE announced the WWE draft earlier in 2016, they also announced they would be adding some pay-per-views that would be brand exclusive ones. Smackdown Live got Backlash, No Mercy, and TLC: Tables , Ladders, and Chairs. Raw got Clash of Champions, Hell in the Cell, and Roadblock.

Here are the matches for the first Raw only pay-per-view:

Preshow

Alicia Fox vs. Nia Jax

This feud basically happened after Alicia Fox got upset that Nia Jax beat up one of Alicia’s wrestling friends who was a jobber for Nia Jax. There is no doubt in my mind that I see Nia Jax getting the win here as WWE continues to make her look unstoppable. Once you get past Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Bayley; Nia Jax is the fourth best woman wrestler on the RAW roster. This will probably change once Paige does return. But I see Nia beating Alicia Fox on Sunday.

Winner: Nia Jax

Main card

New Day ( Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods) vs. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows for the WWE Tag Titles:

The New Day have held the tag titles since last Summerslam and have run through pretty much every tag team. I am a fan of the New Day, but they are becoming stale within the last few months. I also have been saying they should have dropped the belts after Battleground to the Wyatt Family ( New Day won) and they should have dropped them at Summerslam to Anderson and Gallows ( New Day won). I don’t see why New Day should not drop the belts to Anderson and Gallows this Sunday, if not for anything just to breed some new light into the tag team division that New Day has been running for the better part of a year.

Winner: Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows are your new WWE tag team champions

Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho

This is one of two matches not being fought over a title. I see Sami Zayn getting the win here as I think WWE has big plans as they head into their Wrestlemania season. I admire what Chris Jericho has done and has been able to stay relevant for so long, but I feel now he is there to put over the younger talent. Let’s be honest about something, Sami Zayn is going to be in WWE for a long time and who knows how much longer Jericho will be doing this.

Winner: Sami Zayn

TJ Perkins vs. The Brian Kendrick for the WWE Cruiserweight title

On the last episode of RAW, the WWE universe saw the rebirth of the cruiserweight division. There were many different ways that WWE could have introduced this division after they came off a successful Cruiserweight tournament on the network. WWE decided to have a fatal-four way to determine who would face TJ Perkins on Sunday and the four wrestlers were Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann, Gran Matelik, and the Brian Kendrick. Kendrick ended up getting the win after forcing Cedric to tap. As far as Sunday goes I can see WWE putting the title on Kendrick for this reason. He is a name that people know of and one that can bring legitimacy to the belt. I don’t think it would be a long run for him. I am also thinking that Brian Kendrick takes the belt is they didn’t show Perkins with the belt at all, other than pre-packaged material.

Winner: The Brian Kendrick becomes the new WWE Cruiserweight champion

Cesaro vs. Sheamus ( Final match of their best of 7 series)

This series began the week of Summerslam and has been going on since. Sheamus jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and has giving up that lead. Each match has done well and I think Cesaro completes the comeback and wins the series this Sunday. What I am curious to see what WWE does with him winning this series. I hope this finally puts Cesaro on a path to the Main Event picture of RAW. Ever since Wrestlemania 30 when he won the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, WWE has missed booked him greatly. I think that changes as of him winning on Sunday.

Winner: Cesaro

Rusev w/Lana vs. Roman Reigns for the United States title

This feud began by Summerslam as they were supposed to have a match, but the ring bell never went off. Since Roman Reigns failed to get himself into the WWE Universal title match, WWE decided to give him and Rusev a match for the US title. I would not be surprised if Roman Reigns takes the title from Rusev. Since Rusev had won the belt from Kalisto earlier this year, he has done nothing with the belt. WWE seems to finally realizing that they should have taken this route with Roman once the Shield broke up.

Winner: Roman Reigns is your new US title holder

Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley for the WWE Woman’s Title

Originally this was supposed to be a match between Charlotte and Banks, but on RAW last week it was mentioned that both Sasha Banks and Bayley’s shoulders were pinned to the mat. So RAW General Manager Mick Foley made it a triple threat match. I see Charlotte retaining the belt, but I could see WWE planting the seed  for the eventual Sasha Banks/ Bayley match that is being rumored to be happening at Wrestlemania 33. Also, I am curious to see if Dana Brooke interferes at all. It is clear that she will eventually turn on Charlotte and I wonder if something happens on Sunday to push that or if it happens.

Winner: Charlotte retains the WWE Woman’s title

Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Title

A week after Finn Balor was forced to relinquish his WWE Universal title, WWE decided to have a fatal-four-way elimination match to determine the new WWE universal champion. The four wrestlers were Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Big Cass, and Roman Reigns. It was down to Owens, Rollins, and Reigns when the Game, Triple H, would return and screw Reigns out of the title and cross Seth Rollins to help Owens get the win. It was announced the next week by Mick Foley that Kevin Owens will be facing Seth Rollins for the belt. I see Owens retaining here and I am hoping we see some sort of seeds planted for an eventual Rollins/ Triple H match.

Winner: Kevin Owens retains

There are a lot of things I am curious to see at this event. I also expect the Shining Stars vs Enzo and Big Cass to be added to the kickoff show. I am wondering if we see any returns or debuts on Sunday. Let us know in the comments below who you think will be winning at Clash of Champions. Also, who would like to see return or debut at the event, let us know in the comments below, Clash of Champions happens this Sunday at 8pm est with the kickoff show starting at 7pm est.
