We are still a few weeks away from the 2017 Royal Rumble that is happening in San Antonio, Texas at the end of January. There have been rumors going around for weeks that either Chris Jericho or John Cena were favorite to win the event and headline Wrestlemania. However, it seems to be there is a new favorite to win the Royal Rumble.

According to sources, the current favorite to win the Rumble happens to be Bray Wyatt with the help of Randy Orton and Luke Harper. Bray Wyatt has been in WWE for a few years already and has never received the proper push to put him in the main event picture. It seemed that Bray Wyatt was being put into feuds only to lose them in the end. WWE has had opportunities to make something of Wyatt as they put him in feuds with John Cena heading into WrestleMania 30 and the Undertaker going into WrestleMania 31.

WWE’s reasoning for this move is to have it set up similarly to how Randy Orton won the Royal Rumble in 2009 with the help of his Legacy partners Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. If this happens to also be the case that Wyatt ends up winning the Rumble, then he will go on to face the WWE Champion at WrestleMania 33, which is more than likely expected to be AJ Styles.

Bray Wyatt is currently the Smackdown Live Tag Team Champions after him and Randy Orton defeated Heath Slater and Rhyno at TLC to capture the belts, it also happens to be the first belt that Wyatt won in WWE. When you think about it, Wyatt winning would make sense as there are no true viable heels to fight for the title. I am aware that AJ Styles is a heel, but I suspect that he will turn face sometime in 2017.
This is only a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt.
