FOX Sports Radio 96.9 FM/1340 AM and FourFourTwo Magazine’s Dean Perretta briefly caught up with 2018 MLS All-Star and Honduras international forward, Alberth Elis, of Houston Dynamo prior to Las Naranjas’ game against Gregg Berhalter’s  Columbus Crew.

The very dynamic and pacy 22-year-old Honduras international, who has scored 19 goals in 32 games for Houston Dynamo ever since his high-profile arrival from Liga MX giants C.F Monterrey, has also scored seven goals in 28 appearances for Los Catrachos.

The immensely talented Houston Dynamo’s 2018 MLS All-Star was largely instrumental in advancing Honduras to a 4th place finish in the Hex for the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018; thus securing Honduras an ever-pivotal inter-confederation playoff game against Bert van Marwijk’s Australia.

Wilmer Cabrera’s Houston Dynamo are currently 10th in the ever-competitive MLS Western Conference with Elis’ spectacular goals and dazzling performances providing an influential bright spark for the MLS club throughout the current 2018 MLS Season.

Perretta: First and foremost Alberth, what are the main ambitions and goals for Houston Dynamo for the remainder of the 2018 MLS Season?

Elis: I want to help advance to the playoffs. Also, I want to win the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. We are already in the final, and I want to win it.

Perretta: What are your thoughts from a players perspective playing under Wilmer Cabrera?

Elis: Since last year the style of play that El Profe (head coach Wilmer Cabrera) has implemented has helped the faster players like Romell Quioto and I. So, that’s very good. This year we have also improved on the possession of the ball, and that has been very helpful for the team.

Perretta: How would you describe the atmosphere at the BBVA Compass Stadium on match day?

Elis: I think it’s very helpful when we have our fans at the stadium. We like when our fans come out to the stadium and support us from the beginning of the game. Their support has always been important for us, and we hope to pay them back with good results.

Perretta: Honduras teammates Romell Quioto and Boniek Garcia are also teammates at Houston Dynamo. How would you describe your bond with your fellow countrymen at the club?

Elis: It’s a great relationship. I have known Boniek (Garcia) and (Romell) Quioto since I was in Honduras, and that’s helped us create a good relationship for us here.

Perretta: Before we leave Alberth, how was your experience most recently playing in your first MLS All-Star Game against Juventus?

Elis: I felt very good, and I was very happy about playing in that game (2018 MLS All-Star Game). I had a great time, and it was a wonderful experience.
