After the sudden announcement of Josh Gordon facing a year-long suspension for marijuana, the Cleveland Browns selected former Nevada offensive lineman, Joel Bitonio, with the 35th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Bitonio, a All-Mountain West selection in 2013, started all 38 games from 2011 to 2013. At 6’4 and 315 pounds, Bitonio was widely considered one of the top offensive lineman prospect in the draft.

While many expected the Browns to grab a wide receiver after the recent development of Gordon’s latest run-in with the NFL, Bitonio adds some much-needed beef to Cleveland’s offensive line and will offer some much-needed protection for either Brian Hoyer or Johnny Manziel.

The addition of Bitonio also helps the newly-revamped running game and addresses the Browns shaky right side of the offensive line.
