According to a first-person essay/blog post written on The Players Tribune and ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, free-agent power forward Kevin Love has agreed to a five-year $110 million max deal return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Love, widely seen as the best power forward available on the market, agreed to meet with the Los Angeles Lakers, before announcing on The Tribune of his return to the Eastern conference champion Cavaliers.

Often the focal point of some alleged unhappiness in being the third option behind Kyrie Irving and LeBron James, the former UCLA star averaged 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds in his first year in Cleveland after being acquired via trade for this year’s first round pick Andrew Wiggins and last year’s top pick in Anthony Bennett.

With Love back in the fold in Cleveland, the Cavaliers can now turn their focus towards re-signing James, finding a suitor for Brendan Haywood’s $10.3 million contract, signing a quality backup point guard and re-signing restricted free agents Iman Shumpert, Tristan Thompson and Matthew Dellevedova.
