The San Francisco 49ers did not look good when it came to their first two offensive series totaling a total of -6 yards. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles was carving up the defense yet held when it mattered most, the results were two field goals by Jake Elliott and a 6-0 deficit.

On the third offensive series for Brock Purdy and the 49ers offense it did not start off well. Christian McCaffrey got his first carry of the game and went nowhere, there was a subsequent false start, so it was 2nd and 15. A completion to Brandon Aiyuk for 12 yards and then to tight end George Kittle for three yards resulting in a first down was all that was needed.

From that point on the Eagles defense was unable to stop the 49ers offense. San Francisco’s defense remained tough, though there seemingly was a point in the third quarter where there was a likely momentum changer. It started with a 15-yard facemask penalty on the kickoff giiving Philadelphia excellent field position.

Then things got even more interesting. After a completion to DeVonta Smith, Dre Greenlaw slammed the Eagles wide receiver down unnecessarily resulting in a 15-yard penalty.

Along the sidelines the Eagles were happy and their Head of Security Dom DiSandro got involved shoving Greenlaw. As the 49ers linebacker went to point out to the officials what happened he made contact with the face of DiSandro, resulting with both men being ejected. Ultimately Jalen Hurts capped that drive with a touchdown run.

Philadelphia trailed only 21-13 and what seemingly appeared to become a momentum builder for the Eagles was quickly squashed. Five plays later, for the 49ers offense, Purdy found Deebo Samuel who broke a tackle and was off for a 48-yard touchdown.

After a three and out by the Eagles offense, a long 12-play 75-yard drive was capped off by Jauan Jennings 18-yard touchdown reception. Hurts went to the locker room with an apparent injury, Marcus Marriota saw some action before the quarterback did return to the game.

With the 49ers in control, Hurts did find Smith for a two-yard touchdown yet after a failed two point conversation and a subsequent onside kick that McCaffrey recovered. Samuel scored another long touchdown, this time from 46 yards.

The final score from Philadelphia, was the 49ers 42 and the Eagles 19.

For the Eagles Hurts threw for 298 yards and a touchdown, he also ran one in. D’Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell combined for 8 carries and 18 yards, A.J. Brown had a big day with 8 catches for 114 yards and Smith caught 9 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown.

Purdy threw for 314 yards and four touchdowns. McCaffrey ran the ball 17 times for 93 yards and a touchdown. Samuel also had a touchdown on the ground and he caught four passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns, Aiyuk caught five pass for 46 yards and a touchdown and Kittle caught four passes for 68 yards.

More importantly the win by the 49ers silenced their doubters.
