It was not surprising all things considered, since he’s slated to become a free agent at age 30, but running back Matt Forte will not be back with the Chicago Bears next season.

He should get plenty of interest on the free agent market, but here are five teams that look most likely to sign Forte.

5. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have question marks at running back, and Forte had 176 receptions over offensive coordinator Marc Trestman’s two seasons as Bears’ head coach. There’s a potential fit in Baltimore, so it may come down to Forte’s interest in signing there.

4. Indianapolis Colts

Even with Andrew Luck still a young quarterback, the Colts could make moves to win in a short window this offseason. Even at 30 years old, and with Frank Gore in the mix, Forte’s all-around skill set would fit well in Indianapolis.

3. Miami Dolphins

With Lamar Miller basically sure to leave in free agency, the Dolphins may look elsewhere on the market for a running back. New Miami head coach Adam Gase was of course in Chicago as offensive coordinator last season, so Forte looks like a solid fit based on that alone.

2. Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys got good run out of Darren McFadden last season, but they should still be in the market for a running back this offseason. Tony Romo is nearing the end of his career, so signing Forte would be an ideal “win now” move for Dallas.

1. New England Patriots

The Patriots have already been tied to Forte, with ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss anointing him a “perfect fit” for the team. New England will surely not over pay, but Forte presumably would love the chance to join a Super Bowl contender.
