INSCMagazine: Get Social!

A few years back, four friends from Staten Island took the world by storm with a new hit television show. The Impractical Jokers had arrived and built up an immense fan base in the process. For those of you who are unaware of the show, let me give you a brief overview.

“Impractical Jokers” is a hidden camera show, where four lifelong friends (Joe, Sal, Murr, Q) compete in challenges where they have to do a bunch of ridiculous things. If they fail to complete a task, they get a loss on that challenge. Whoever suffers the most losses in the episode has to suffer through a punishment at the end of the episode. The punishment is just as crazy and ridiculous as the challenges they do during the heart of the episode.

The show is on truTV, and new episodes are shown Thursday nights at 10 p.m. EST. It is one of the most hilarious, laugh-out-loud 30 minutes of the week, and it has a huge following. A lot of their fans have become quietly obsessed with the show, myself included. Are you an “Impractical Jokers” junkie as well?

1. You greet anyone with a mustache with, “Hey, mustache.”

You see someone walking by with a real nice ‘stache. You just can’t help yourself, as you hit them with a “hey mustache.” They may not always like it, and you may not even know them, but you just cannot resist the urge.

2. You try to nose people.

Nosing is just so tempting. There you are in the grocery store with whoever, walking up and down the aisle. They are looking at a box of cereal, and you are standing behind them. Why not try to touch their shoulder with your nose without them noticing? It can be done anywhere, at any time, with anyone. That is what makes it so tempting.

3. Grapes are your jam.

Because they just are. You enjoy them so much you get tempted to take them out of another person’s shopping cart and just eat them.

4. When you see someone named Larry, you do one of the following:

a. You scream, “Larry!” (can also be done at random times—no Larry necessary)

b. You say, “I finally found Larry!”

c. You just laugh thinking of all the time Joe has spent searching for Larry

d. Run “Impractical Jokers” clips through your head because the show will be forever linked to the name in your mind

e. All of the above

5. You use the Castle of White model whenever possible.

Any phrase that has two words to it, such as White Castle, Olive Garden or Red Lobster can follow the model. Anytime you come across one of these phrases; you have to flip it around. The Lobster of Red or Garden of Olive just sounds so much better. If you’re a fellow “Impractical Jokers” fan, they will not even question you for doing so. It’s just natural at this point.

6. You always have the urge to start a “Let’s get sexy!” chant—or already have.

There you are at an event that has a ton of people, like a sporting event. The crowd is quiet just waiting for something to happen. All you want to do is get things rolling. Who doesn’t enjoy a “Let’s get sexy” chant? It has absolutely nothing to do with the event itself, but who cares.

7. The best kind of potatoes are scoopski potatoes.

And whenever you have mashed potatoes, you have the urge to throw them down on everyone’s plate and yell “scoopski potatoes” as you do it, because it’s simply the only way to truly enjoy a meal with mashed potatoes.

If you agree with these seven statements, then you are in fact obsessed with “Impractical Jokers.” Now go out there and find Larry!
