We are a little bit over a month away until Wrestlemaina on April 2,2017 from Orlando, Florida. While the WWE has a general idea of what the card will look like that night, there are a few parts that they are working on. One of them happens to be what do they do with AJ Styles. Since Styles lost the belt at the Rumble against Cena, the rumor mills started coming out saying that Styles would be facing Smackdown Live commissioner Shane McMahon at Wrestlemaina. Now it seems that those plans might have changed.

Apparently the rumor mills are now saying that we might get AJ Styles go up against Shinsuke Nakamura at Wrestlemaina. It seems that the way this would play out, if it does happen, is Nakamura would interfere in Styles match on Smackdown against Luke Harper for the #1 contender to Bray Wyatt’s title. Right off the back, this could both be the match of the night and a match of the year candidate. Also it is not uncommon for NXT wrestlers to work both Takeover and the main roster pay per view. We recently saw this during the Royal Rumble weekend, when Tye Dillinger had a match against Eric Young at Takeover and then was in the Royal Rumble at the number 10 spot.

This would not be the first time that these wrestlers have crossed paths. While they were both in Japan, they had many matches including a phenomenal match at Wrestle Kingdom 10. The expectation is that Luke Harper will win their match at Smackdown and go on to headline Wrestlemaina 33 against Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton.

The only confirmed match for Wrestlemaina 33 is Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar and unfortunately will probably be for the WWE Universal Title. It will be interesting to see how this card plays out on Raw and Smackdown over the next month.
