ARLINGTON, TX — 48 hours after being traded from the Oakland Raiders to the Dallas Cowboys, the biggest question that now needs to be answered is wide receiver Amari Cooper the missing piece for quarterback Dak Prescott?

The third-place Cowboys, who traded a 2019 first round pick to the Raiders for the former Alabama star WR, hope that Cooper, who recently missed two games due to a concussion and has gained a reputation for drops, gives Prescott the much-needed weapon to go downfield.

As in all things in Big D, the ongoing spat between owner Jerry Jones and disgruntled former wideout, Dez Bryant, along with the lack of weapons other than Cole Beasley has put Prescott in a real bind in both the national and local media amongst fans and critics.

Despite having one of the premier tailbacks in Ezekiel Elliott and one of the NFL’s best offensive lines, Prescott and the Cowboys have struggled, much to the chagrin of their fans, who expect nothing less than a Super Bowl.

Is Cooper, who is still in the proverbial prime of his career at being 6’1, 210 pounds and only 24 years old, caught 22 passes for 280 yards and one touchdown for the Raiders in five games.

Not exactly the type of numbers that would warrant a team to trade for a WR such as Cooper, but clearly Dallas saw something that they needed and decided to gamble on it.

With Cooper now in the fold, Dallas has an offense that features Prescott, Elliott and the fore mentioned Cooper, and while the season is not yet at the halfway point yet, the time to produce is now for Prescott and the use of excuses has expired, as he now has someone to throw to once again.
