The NHL is full of elite young talent. The Arizona Coyotes have quite a bit of just that. While many look down at the desert city franchise as not being a hockey town, it’s about to get a complete overhaul thanks to some emerging stars.

Arizona might have one of the best collection of prospects and talented young stars in the NHL. Built mostly through the draft, the Coyotes are on the verge of something great, a possible playoff berth. And to get there, they will rely heavily on its core of talented youngsters such as Max Domi, Anthony Duclair, Christian Dvorak, and Dylan Strome.

The foursome has a chance to be one of the league’s most deadly group of players on quite some time. Domi and Duclair are coming off successful seasons which saw the two combine for 96 points in what was the first full season for both. Dvorak and Domi haven’t touched NHL ice yet, but with a pedigree as high as theirs, you can expect instant results.

The Coyotes will do just about anything to increase attendance. The team is one of the least marketable franchises in the NHL. If one thing is certain in sports it’s that young talent always sells tickets. The excitement that these players will bring is almost certainly going to bring fans through the turnstiles.

We already know that Domi and Duclair have chemistry together, they’re projected to play on the team’s first line come the start of the season. But for the team to take off and develop a solid fanbase, Dvorak and Strome need to find a way to fit into the offense as well.

If the season were to start today, it’s a pretty safe bet to say that both Dvorak and Strome would get a spot on the opening night roster. Strome would be penciled in as the teams second or third line center, as veteran Martin Hanzal has a pretty good grasp on top line duties.

Dvorak is a little trickier, especially with the Coyotes recent signing of Radim Vrbata. It’d be good for Strome and Dvorak to play together and develop chemistry like Duclair and Domi, but Vrbata is going to eat away at the second of third line minutes, possibly taking some of Dvorak’s ice time.

Whatever the case may be, the future looks bright for the Coyotes. While we might not see the full effect of this surge of young talent for a few years, the seeds are going to be planted now. It’s just the first step in a long process to bring winning hockey to the desert.
