Raiders Sign RB Rashard Jennings and S Reggie Smith

Thursday morning the Oakland Raiders confirmed the signing of running back Rashad Jennings and safety Reggie Smith. Smith played in 45 games with the San Francisco 49ers from 2008-2011 and signed last season with the Carolina Panthers, yet failed to make the roster. He got released just prior to the start of the season. His opportunity with the Raiders is at free safety as Tyvon Branch is a lock for the strong safety position. The recently signed Usama Young will likely start the season and if he struggles Smith will

Oakland Raiders: GM Reggie McKenzie Will Continue To Build A Contender No Matter What

The Oakland Raiders are certainly not yet considered among the best teams in the NFL. Yet, releasing high-priced players such as  Richard Seymour, Michael Huff, Darrius Heyward Bay and most recently the head case Rolando McClain the franchise is heading in a new direction. With the Raiders only having one first round draft pick on the roster and millions in dead money until next season the organization knows what's ahead as it limits the team's ability to rebuild.

It Wasn't Pretty, Yet The A's Win Their 6th Straight

Sometimes looks are deceiving and tonight was one of those times as the excellent pitching match-up between Jarrod Parker and C.J. Wilson. Yet, it never came to pass. Wilson retired the first two batters to open the game before running into trouble. He walked Jed Lowrie and Yoenis Cespedes and was visibly upset of what he thought were strikes got called balls. Derek Norris worked a 3-1 count and lined a single to plate the first run of the

Why You Shouldn’t Participate In Autism Awareness Month

April is National Autism Awareness Month and on April 2nd was World Autism Day. Yet, why is that a blog from Psychology Today  titled"I'm Not Participating in Autism Awareness Month" gets it right? The title would have benefited if the title had added and"neither should you." If there is a story about an individual with Autism it's almost always portrayed in a negative context in the mainstream media. For example a priest banning a 13-year old from church, a

2013 Men's Final Four: Mitch McGary Leads Michigan To Victory Over Syracuse

Happy Trails For Raiders ILB Rolando McClain

The Oakland Raiders have cut ties with inside linebacker Ronaldo McClain. It is not a surprise as there were rumors swirling for weeks about his release. At one point he was going to anchor the Raiders defense and considered a good selection at no.8 in the 2010 NFL . He was one of the most recognizable stars of the Alabama Crimson Tide team that won the BCS National Championship and yet he was nothing more than a disappointment. During his time with

A's Win Third Straight Behind Straily's Brilliance

The Oakland Athletics won their third straight game thanks to an outstanding start from Daniel Straily and a seven run outburst in the top of the fifth against the Houston Astros. Through three innings Straily struck out seven and wound up going 6.2 innings, striking out 11 and even more impressive did now allow a walk and his only blemishes were giving up a rbi single to Jose Altuve and a leadoff double to Jason Maxwell in the seventh. New Acquisitions Provide The Fireworks As A's Earn First Win Of 2013

The first inning didn't start well for Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Tommy Milone who had an excellent rookie season in 2012. Franklin Gutierrez greeted him with his first home run of the season and just two batters later Michael Morse took him deep for his third home run in two days. Jesus Montero opened the second inning up with a single and advanced to second after Jason Bay walked. Milone received his wake up call and got Robert Andino to hit into a double play and
