The breakout candidate for The Baltimore Ravens is the third-year player Breshad Perriman, the former 1st round pick from Central Florida. He cut his rookie season short by a knee injury but after being healthy for most of the season last year, Perriman could produce drastically as the starter in 2017.
Now with the Baltimore Ravens signing Jeremy Maclin, it should help Perriman get more snaps and targets on the outside with Mike Wallace on the opposite side. The two speedsters with Flacco should bring change to the Ravens passing attack with Perriman getting a full off-season improving his routes and hands.
As a one game starter in 2016, Perriman had 33 catches for 399 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns. If Perriman is more consistent in 2017, he can be a potential 500-yard receiver if he stays healthy. With his speed, he can be a deep threat like Wallace that can prove to be lethal with Maclin in the slot in 2017.
Breshad Perriman has the chance to play as he did in his last season with UCF, catching 50 passes for 1,044 yards and 9 touchdowns. If Perriman shows that production on the field, the offense of the Baltimore Ravens could drastically improve. In addition, the rest of the offensive signings like Danny Woodhead and Jeremy Maclin will also bring fire power.
Just the fact both Wallace and Perriman can take the top off the defense helps free up the inside and will help get Maclin and Woodhead more targets. This would help the offense to improve from 17th in 2016 to potentially top 10. That is if Flacco has a bounce back year with his new weapons on offense. If Breshad Perriman has that kind of year, he would prove his value as a former first round pick in 2015.
