What is your skincare routine like? Are you getting the results you want?

Well, a close observation of how well your skin has fared in the last few years can say the whole truth. You may not have realised or are very well unaware of your mistakes that are leading your skin into a series of problems starting one after the other. Listed below are the things you are doing that you need to stop ASAP.

Same Products All Year Long

Different seasons pose different challenges to your skin, demanding different sort of care in every season. Unfortunately, most of us use the same products or follow the same regimen.

Re-evaluation is essential. Below is what your skin needs in different seasons.

  1. Winter: Hydration and moisturization
  2. Spring: Deep pore cleansing and exfoliation
  3. Summer: Sun protection with a good sunscreen. Light weight products.
  4. Fall: Exfoliation products to revive the skin damaged by the sun in summers

Topical Steroids A Necessity

A lot of women like to be their own dermatologist. For any minor problems that pops up, they visit a local drug store and pick a remedy on their own without consulting a practitioner. Hence, in most of the cases, they are non-prescribed.

Using steroid based creams at every minor instance is going to make your skin thin and lead to zits as well. They are known for triggering rosacea and high potency creams are sure to cause this problem. Staying afar and letting the skin heal on its own is the best way to maintain the natural integrity of the skin.

Exfoliate More Than Required

You need to treat your skin gently. In an anticipation of getting a brighter skin, do not remove more than required. Grain scrubs and harsh chemicals have an alternative – anti-aging creams and serums.

These have active exfoliating ingredients which are sufficient enough to remove the dead skin cells building up. Scrubbing after exfoliation should never be done. It can harm the skin badly, you wouldn’t want to see your skin in such a state.

Pulling Skin Around The Eyes

It is not unusual to see the signs of aging making their appearance around the most delicate part of the body first – your eyes. What causes it? Pulling your eyes while dropping in the contact lenses, eyeliner application, rubbing your eyes to remove eye makeup and rubbing vigorously afterwards when you remove that makeup.

This causes wear and tear of collagen and elastin fibers resulting in wrinkles and the development of fine lines under the eyes. People tend to make mistakes while applying an eye cream too. It should be applied with the ring finger and patted gently, not rubbed or massaged.

Skipping Sunscreen

Getting tanned in the sun to get that bronzed look is eventually driving you to a stage wherein you will see aging signs appearing one after the other. Wrinkles, sagging skin, age spots, fine lines, dryness, dullness to name a few. Winters and rain should not be made any excuse. It should be applied every day irrespective of the weather outside.

Don’t be miser. If you can really rely on a Dermology anti aging cream, then it is none other than sun protection. Remember, every time you exfoliate or wax, it is extremely important to stay out of the sun or apply a sunscreen, a broad spectrum one.

Alternatively, as you age, you can use an anti-aging cream preferably with sunscreen SPF. Update your skincare regime and enjoy a healthy skin.
