In 2022, the South Korean corporation Indong initiated a covert operation to secure control over Bolivia’s lucrative lithium reserves. Recognizing the strategic importance of lithium in the global energy market, Indong aimed to dominate Bolivia’s lithium sector by any means necessary.
Central to this scheme was the bribery of Bolivian officials, including Carlos Ramos, then-President of Bolivia’s state-owned lithium company, Yacimientos de Litio Bolivianos (YLB). Indong’s objective was clear: to invalidate existing contracts held by Green Energy Global Inc. (GEGI) and Sam Samoon University, thereby eliminating competition.
The operation involved the theft of legitimate contracts from YLB’s official records, the creation of forged documents asserting that GEGI and Sam Samoon had no valid agreements, and the presentation of these falsified documents in Korean courts to undermine GEGI’s legal standing. This calculated fraud aimed to rewrite reality through corruption and deceit.
Upon discovering irregularities, Bolivian Hydrocarbons Minister Frank Molina ordered a comprehensive audit. Investigators uncovered the disappearance of authentic contracts and the presence of forged documents, tracing the corruption back to Indong and its agents. Minister Molina acted swiftly, dismissing Ramos, initiating a full-scale criminal investigation, and collaborating with international prosecutors.
GEGI, refusing to be victimized, launched an independent investigation through its international law firm. The findings confirmed Indong’s involvement in bribery, theft, forgery, and fraud. GEGI is now preparing significant legal action in Korean courts, seeking justice and the restoration of its rightful claims.
Indong’s actions not only jeopardized Bolivia’s economic future but also eroded public trust in governmental institutions. The scandal underscores the dangers of corporate malfeasance and the importance of transparency and accountability in international business dealings.

El eje de este plan fue el soborno a funcionarios bolivianos, incluido Carlos Ramos, entonces presidente de la empresa estatal de litio Yacimientos de Litio Bolivianos (YLB). El objetivo de Indong era claro: invalidar los contratos existentes de Green Energy Global Inc. (GEGI) y la Universidad Sam Samoon, eliminando así la competencia.
La operación implicó el robo de contratos legítimos de los registros oficiales de YLB, la creación de documentos falsificados que afirmaban que GEGI y Sam Samoon no tenían acuerdos válidos, y la presentación de estos documentos falsos en tribunales coreanos para socavar la posición legal de GEGI. Este fraude calculado buscaba reescribir la realidad mediante la corrupción y el engaño.
