INSCMagazine: Get Social!

Knowing the do’s and don’ts of traveling with your significant other will help you become the couple that everyone wants to travel with. If you are hoping to connect with your sig and hope to take things to the next level, check out these tips on how to really connect with your special someone when travelling.

Do – Go on dates: even though your vacation may seem like an ongoing date remember to do something romantic together plan an actual dinner, a walk on the beach, wine tasting or spa day.

Don’t – Stay in the room all day: Vacations are for relaxing however get out and enjoy where you are at, do something you have never done before, let go of your stresses by gaining a new skill.

Do – Spend some time apart: If you feel like you are having a hard time compromising on things to do, spend some time apart. Whether its a hour or so to exercise or a whole day to experience a new adventure make sure you both remain stress free. Just because your partner may not want to do certain things with you, it does not mean that they do not love you or support you.

Don’t – Be Selfish: I know maybe you have been on this cruise a few times, or you have flown to Mexico and did the swimming with the dolphins thing, but if your significant other hasn’t, allow them to enjoy the same experiences you have. Try to make a new memory with the same experience together.

Do – Choose a destination you both like: This is a given, try to make sure that their is something about the place you are both going to that you love and make sure you hit both areas. You both most likely have a travel bucket list you would both like to go to so try to compromise. Listing countries, regions, states and cities helps to narrow things down.

Don’t – Over pack: While at home it’s okay to go through 100 dresses or 20 pairs of shoes to figure out what you are wearing, but while on vacation, it can really add stress to your day by taking too much time to worry about what color shirt you will be wearing or what shoes go with what. Bring a few options but not to many!

Don’t – Let a bump in the road ruin your vacation: Okay, so maybe your luggage got lost, your dinner wasn’t great, you got in a little argument on the plane—LET IT GO!—Do not allow little bumps to ruin your whole vacation.

Do – Pre-plan your transportation thoroughly to the airport and once you arrive: Making sure you are getting to where you need to be once you land, really does take a lot of stress off of you. The last thing that you need is to have to wait a hour or so for an Uber, or cab or maybe even a bus last minute, or even miss your flight. Have this all planned out so that you know where and when you will be arriving.

Don’t – waste to much time on social media: Yes its so exciting to post your pictures and videos of the amazing views and sunsets even your loving selfies, but remember to take the time to enjoy the moments your friends and family. They will be just as happy and excited to see your photos once you return from your vacation.

With these simple do’s and don’ts, you can be sure that you and your partner will come back loving each other more then ever.
