Bowling Green will look to improve on last season, which was a year-long struggle for the Falcons. BGSU finished 3-9 overall in 2019 including 2-6 in the conference for fifth place in the MAC East division, only ahead of 0-8 Akron. In its nine losses, all of them came by 18 points or more. Second-year head coach Scot Loeffler brought in transfer Matt McDonald to play quarterback, as the two were together at Boston College.
