Dec. 24, 2016.

635 days since a X-Mas eve win over the then-San Diego Chargers on a snowy December day, a 19-game losing streak, fourth longest all time, all came to an abrupt end thanks to rookie quarterback, Baker Mayfield and a 21-17 win over the New York Jets.

Coming on in relief for starting QB Tyrod Taylor, who suffered a concussion, the former Heisman Trophy winner from Oklahoma completed 17 of 23 passes for 201 yards and a game-winning TD run by RB Carlos Hyde.

An interception of Jets quarterback Sam Darnold with the Jets trailing 21-17 by DB Terrance Mitchell with 11 seconds remaining sealed Cleveland’s first win in almost two years.

After a tumultuous week in which they traded former WR Josh Gordon to the AFC champion New England Patriots and abruptly cutting maligned kicker Zane Gonzalez, it’s been a very drama-filled week in The Land.

After a lackluster performance by Taylor in which he went 4 of 14 for 19 yards, Mayfield came in in relief and sparked Cleveland to a loud and raucous win in front of a national audience.

What those who watched the Browns first win in two years was the quick ending of the Tyrod Taylor era, and the start of the Baker Mayfield era.

And like the numerous Bud Light Victory Fridges all around Cleveland-area bars, it was well worth the wait.

Dilly Dilly!
