I do not know how the New England Patriots do it. Tom Brady was suspended for four games to start the season, and most people said they would be lucky to start the year 2-2. Yet here we are entering week four of the NFL season, and the team is 3-0 and getting to host the 1-2 Buffalo Bills this week. The Bills are coming off a strong performance at home, as they defeated the Arizona Cardinals 33-18. The Patriots are coming off some extra rest after beating the Houston Texans on Thursday night last week by a score of 27-0.

The Patriots will enter the game with some uncertainty at the quarterback position for one more week. Week one start Jimmy Garoppolo is dealing with a sprained right AC joint in his shoulder which he suffered in week two. At the time of the injury, he was expected to miss a few weeks but has been able to be a limited participant in practice. Week three’s starter, rookie Jacoby Brissett has also been a limited participant in practice thanks to a sprained thumb on his throwing hand. Now the team has not gone out and made any moves at the position this week, which tells me at least one of the two men will suit up.

It is probably a good bet that whoever starts, they will be handing the ball off to LeGarrette Blount a ton. The back is having a very nice start to the season, and he will be going to be facing a defense that allowed David Johnson to run for two scores a week ago. Meanwhile, Rob Gronkowski finally played last week, but only to the tune of 14 snaps. It will be interesting to see how much of a role he will have here.

The Bills will be headed back on the road, where they looked awful in week one in Baltimore. Last weeks monster game came thanks to LeSean McCoy shouldering the offense, and the defense picking apart Carson Palmer. The defense will not be as lucky this week, as the Patriots will not be throwing deep passes like Palmer last week. They will be going for the dinks and dunks, and plenty of hand-offs like mentioned earlier. And as much as I am a fan of Shady McCoy, he alone will not be enough to take down the Patriots.

Line: NE -5.5, O/U: TBD (because Pats QB)

Pick: Patriots (And no matter the number, give me the under)

Result: Buf 16 – NE 0, Bills and the under
