INSCMagazine: Get Social!

Today’s business world is nothing like the business world a few years ago. Even if we go back five to ten years, the landscape of business has changed dramatically. One example is technology.

Quite simply, there isn’t a company in the business sector that can survive without the right tech. Technology has become a major part of success in the twenty-first century, especially since 2010. But, why has it become so important? Why does our success rely on a couple of pieces of software?

1. Reduces Costs

It is hard to dispute the facts, and the facts are that technology lowers the cost of business by a big margin. With the right technology, businesses don’t need to employ as many employees as they would normally do, which is a big deal. Labour costs are one of the biggest expenditures in the industry, so cutting them will save us a fortune. As it is hard to stay afloat, we need all the money we can get, especially when our business is struggling to make money.

2. Increases Efficiency

Efficiency is important to cutting costs, too. But, in this case, efficiency has another, more important role – it boosts productivity. Because there is no waste and everything is used, businesses become far smoother. As a result, work becomes much easier. So, when staff comes to perform a vital task, they can do it much quicker and easier. With the extra time they save, they can get through more work in a normal working day. With regards to the business, it produces more output and makes more sales. What more could any company want?

3. Keep Up To Date With Trends

Consumers want the latest in technology as soon as it becomes available. And if they don’t get it, they will go elsewhere. Obviously, you don’t want to lose customers to your competitors, so you need to give them what they desire. A technological advancement such as app development is something that every consumer wants because it is quick and simple to use. By refusing to embrace the new business culture, you run the risk of alienating your customer base and force them into the arms of the competition.

4. Increases Communication

Firstly, let’s take a look at internal communication. Conversing in the office is essential if we want to take care of all the jobs we need to in a day. Without being able to communicate effectively, we may as well do it ourselves. Now, face to face communication is the best method, but it isn’t always available. If that is the case, we need an alternative, like email or instant messaging services. Plus, we can communicate anytime and anywhere, so the company can run 24/7.

Secondly, we need to communicate with our customers. By conversing, we can build a relationship that encourages brand loyalty in their eyes. And, we can also learn more about their habits and behaviours. Once we have that information, it is easy to imbue into the next project.

As you can see, it is always important to treat technology with the respect it deserves.
