All the talk coming into the 2016 NFL season was weather or not the Denver Broncos offense would be able to play at a championship level. After all, their star QB retired and his understudy left for another team. What were the Broncos to do? They showed in week one what they would do.

The answer for the Denver Broncos was run the football. CJ Anderson led the Broncos to their first win of the season. He led a very explosive ground game with 20 carries for 92 yards and 1 TD. Anderson also had four catches for 47 yards and 1 TD. The Broncos, as a team, carried the ball 29 times for 148 yards. This is what the Gary Kubiak offense is all about. Use the run game to set up the pass. This also helps out a young QB.

Trevor Siemian maintained his cool demeanor as well. Even in the face of adversity, 2 INTs, Siemian stayed calm and in control of the Denver Broncos offense. He showed why he was able to win the quarterback competition in training camp. I think he also showed that he might not be just a small bridge to first round draft pick Paxton Lynch. For a kid who had never thrown a regular season pass, Siemian showed the stage was not too big for him.

The vaunted Denver Broncos defense came up big when needed. However, they are going to need to be better than 20 points, 157 rushing yards, and 194 passing yards as the season wears on. Teams will find a way to wear them down and beat them. But this is the first week, and they were able to get the win.

Gary Kubiak and the Denver Broncos showed that they are ready to defend their title. Trevor Siemian showed the spotlight was not too big. CJ Anderson showed he might be worth the money. The Denver Broncos are 1-0, and the parts are now moving. There are a few extra days to celebrate, but then it is on to prep work for the Indianapolis Colts.
