CLEVELAND, OH – By the 4 PM this past Saturday, like all other NFL teams, the Cleveland Browns had their 53 man roster finished. Twenty four hours later, the Browns made six more additional moves, including signing a much-needed wide receiver. For now, Cleveland has elected to keep 12 rookies, which is 23% of the roster.

Head coach Mike Pettine told the media yesterday, “I wouldn’t read too much into where it stands right now. There are some guys who aren’t here who potentially could come back. There are some guys who are here who won’t be here. The roster situation right now is very fluid.”

The brown-and-orange said goodbye to quarterback Rex Grossman, offensive lineman Martin Wallace, offensive lineman Karim Barton, and wide receiver Charles Johnson yesterday. One would have to believe that the Browns will add one more receiver to the roster. While Cleveland likes new addition LaRon Byrd‘s hands and size, proven players like Robert Meachum, Vincent Brown, and possibly Stephen Hill are still out there.

Here is the 53 man roster as the Browns are just seven days away from their opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Keep in mind that this could change even further before the Steelers game.
