Some people start exploring their innate talents and skills much later in life, which helps them accumulate multiple skill sets. Their road to success is bumpy, and they work harder to achieve their dreams. The multi-talented investor, venture capitalist, Emmy-award winner, and tech artist Irina Meyer has a similarly fascinating story to share with the world.

Irina’s life began in the extreme poverty of a gloomy home in Moscow, Soviet Union. Her distressing financial circumstances marred any chances of education or progress there might have been, and the negligent behavior of her parents was of no help either.

With the urge to study and excel, Irina made it to one of the best universities in Russia, exploring the field of philosophy and political science. From there, she moved to France to pursue French Literature and Language and found the love of her life, and after getting married, she moved to the United States with her two wonderful children.

In the US, her professional life materialized and had real progress as she shifted from the literary world to machines, technology, and software. Irina enrolled in a BS program, studying Computer Sciences – a massive and fateful shift – one that determined the course of events later in her life.

She joined the Fintech industry as a tech risk assessment professional right after graduating in CS a. Irina was actively exploring where her heart belonged in terms of profession, which was one reason she kept experimenting with various roles. She may have been struggling to discover her true potential, but she was proficient in all the fields.

Irina soon shifted to a new domain and started working in interactive media and entertainment. Winning the prestigious Emmy Award in 2011, Irina proved interactive media, entertainment, and literature were eminent parts of her personality.

Despite such high acclaim and awards, Irina believed life had much more to offer and wanted to work toward achieving the life she envisaged. Driven by her values of gender equality, environmental solutions, and alleviating pain and misery for all, Irina founded a capital investment company based on impact investment when it was a nascent idea.

Aligning her values with her assets, Irina established her company, Sils Capital, and invested in early-stage startups working toward the desired socio-economic change by building supporting technology.

She supports innovative technology startups with capital investment, leveling the ground for a revolution. Staying true to her values and funding money with a positive intention, Irina significantly invests in women-led business ventures through Sils Capital. She supports women’s rights and wishes to do all she can to end cultural discrimination against women.

Mama Lion Productions is another project of Irina where she seeks to share incredible success stories of women founders and VCs with the world through films. She hopes to inspire the youth as well as appreciate and validate the achiever through the art of storytelling.

As a talented philanthropist, she has connected with Ambassador Andrew Young and commissioned paintings for him. These paintings are decorated in his main office, an accomplishment worth flaunting.

After successfully pivoting in multiple roles before becoming an investor with magnanimous and revolutionary values, Irina Meyer debunks all myths about being a master of one art.
