Whether it’s a relaxing facial or a stress-relieving massage, finding the time for a spa treatment is one of those things that we should all try and make more time for. For many people, a spa day is the ultimate way in which we can truly pamper ourselves, but it is often something that is reserved only for those special days like birthday treats or Mother’s Day.

If you really want to feel all of the full benefits that having spa treatments can offer you and keep feeling the positive effect that this can have on your life, then it is important to find time on a more regular basis to indulge in a spa treatment. This doesn’t have to be a full spa day; just a single treatment and you will really notice the benefits. Let’s take a look at some of the things that you should be considering when it comes to incorporating a spa treatment into your weekly routine.

Bring it home

Let’s be completely honest, whilst it would be lovely to find the time to leave the home every week for a spa treatment, for many people who are time poor this is simply not an option. This is particularly the case when their free time happens in the evenings when they have finished their work, sorted out their children and finally get a little time for themselves before the whole routine begins again.

When this happens there are a few simple spa treatments you can undertake at home, and whilst they are no substitute for the ultimate relaxation offered by a spa itself, they can still be very relaxing and can help you to relax and unwind.

An invigorating shower

If you don’t have a bath at home, and this is becoming more and more common, then you can create a great spa-like experience in the shower. Add the refreshing scent of eucalyptus and you not only clear your mind and remove the stresses of the day but also give yourself an instant energy boost.

If you can’t get your hands on a sprig of fresh eucalyptus to hang in your shower, then use a few drops of essential oil on the wall of your shower (away from the spray for the same effect) finishing with a 30 second burst of cold water will really help to kick start your circulation and release some endorphins.

Pamper your feet

Possibly the hardest working part of the body, and the one that gets the least attention, your feet go through a lot every day, so it is important to take the time to show them how much you appreciate them.

Start by giving them a relaxing foot soak, lavender bath salts in warm water are a great choice here and you should soak until the water goes cold. Next, treat them to a soothing foot mask that will help to really pamper your skin. A generous amount of foot balm is the next step and make sure that you take time to rub it into all of the parts of your foot. A great way to ensure that this really absorbs well into your skin is to add a warm layer over the top, this could be as simple as some thick socks, but spa booties are an even better choice.

Find some “me” time

Whilst there are some great home solutions you can use between spa visits there really is no substitute for the relaxation of taking some me time away from your home and being pampered. So make sure that you take the time for yourself and book a spa treatment as part of your weekly self-care routine.
