When the Detroit Lions (5-4) take on the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7) on Sunday they will be trying to maintain first place. Are the capable of being the best team in NFC North? A victory on Sunday will go a long way in proving that. The Jaguars are a team that the Lions should beat. Are you buying or selling the Detroit Lions?

Lions Offense vs Jaguars Defense

The Jacksonville Jaguars defense is very young. They have their moment sin which they show how good they can be. Then they have their moments in which teams just run and up down the field on them. What can the Detroit Lions high-powered offense do? The Lions offense is ranked 23rd overall (383 yards/game) and they are the 17th ranked pass offense (251 yards/game). Meanwhile, the Jaguars defense is the 8th overall ranked defense (328 yards/game) and the 4th ranked pass defense (204 yards/game). It is clear that the Lions are a pass-first offense. With this mentality, there could be a strong chess match with Matt Stafford and the Jacksonville defense. Do the Lions have what it takes to beat the young Jaguars defense?

Lions Defense vs Jaguars Offense

The Detroit Lions defense is ranked 23rd in the league (366 yards/game). They have had very little success stopping teams this season. That is until this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars offense is horrible. They have so many weapons and cannot use them. The 19th place league ranking (343 Yards/game) does not tell the story of how bad they are. Blake Bortles is a turnover machine. He is tied for second in the league with 11 INTs. Only the New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is worse. If the Lions are able to play even half-ass coverage they should be able to get some turnovers. Especially if they can create some pressure with their pass rush. This is where the Detroit Lions can control this ball game.

The Detroit Lions are quietly becoming the best team in the NFC North. The fall of the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings have given this team the push that they have needed. Not only are they playing good football but they now are in control of their destiny into the playoffs. This is a team on the rise and that is why I am buying the Detroit Lions in week 11.
