Dwyane Wade and the Chicago Bulls agreed to a contract buyout and it didn’t take long for him to figure out the next chapter of his career. After just a couple days of debating where to sign, Wade seems to have decided to reunite with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

According to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Wade has chosen the Cavaliers as his next team and could finalize the deal as early as Wednesday.

There were quite a few teams hoping to convince Wade to sign with them. Those teams included the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder. Unfortunately for those teams, they did not have Wade’s old friend LeBron James to help them convince the star shooting guard.

Wade signed with the Chicago Bulls last season in hopes of leading his hometown team back to title contention. That was not the case, as the Bulls struggled with inconsistency throughout the majority of the season. Chicago did make some noise in the postseason, but ended up being knocked out of the playoffs by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs.

Now that Wade is in Cleveland, it sounds as if he will assume the starting shooting guard role. That was reportedly a major plus for Wade and may very well have sealed the deal.

James and the Cavaliers went through a bit of a hectic offseason. Kyrie Irving requested to be traded and ended up being dealt to the Celtics in a deal that netted Cleveland Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder, along with a couple other pieces including the Brooklyn Nets’ coveted 2018 first round pick.

Last season with the Bulls, Wade ended up averaging 18.3 points per game to go along with 4.5 rebound and 3.8 assists. He shot 43.4 percent from the floor and knocked down 31 percent of his three-point attempts.

Wade is not the piece that will power the Cavaliers over the Golden State Warriors, but he is exactly what the doctor ordered for James. Having the kind of chemistry with Wade that he has, James will feel even more comfortable and will have yet another veteran offensive weapon by his side.

Despite all of the offseason changes, Cleveland could very well end up being stronger this year than they were last. Wade is a perfect fit with the Cavaliers and is an ideal way to end their offseason on a positive note.
