Before there was Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus, there was Janet. To put things into a modern-day perspective, Janet Jackson was the Rihanna of her time.

After first bursting onto the American pop culture scene in 1976 in the television show, The Jacksons and popular 80’s shows such as Good Times and Fame, Jackson would define herself as one of the best-selling artists in history thanks to hit albums such as Rhythm Nation, Janet, 20 Y.O., Jackson would cross over into movies such as Poetic Justice, The Nutty Professor II, Why Did I Get Married and For Colored Girls.

One of the top-selling artists in history with a reported 160 million records sold and 26 million albums that include an array of hits such as “Nasty”, “Rhythm Nation”, “If” and “All For You”, Jackson also holds the record for most consecutive Top Ten hits by a female artist with 18.

Also regarded as on of the top hip-hop and R&B artists in history, Jackson helped in influencing today’s music. While she may be more famous in today’s era for her “wardrobe malfunction” in performing a Super Bowl duet with Justin Timberlake in Super Bowl XXXVIII, Jackson has still endured as one of music’s most influential artists.

Currently in the midst of her seventh world concert tour to promote her new eleventh studio album, ‘Unbreakable”, which includes 88 stops in North America, three in Asia and 20 in Europe—a total of 111 stops, the woman who had a hand in shaping today’s current pop scene is as unbreakable and talented as ever.
