Lately the rumor mill has been busy turning out casting rumors for Warner Bros. live action adaptation of DC’s Suicide Squad.

The latest one to emerge concerns Jai Courtney, who will be portraying Kyle Reese in Terminator: Genisys when it hits theaters July 1st 2015. According to a report from Variety, Courtney may be up for the role of Deadshot.

Aside from this new rumor, some light has been shed on who others who are being sought may be playing if they are indeed cast. Of course, it’s already known that Jared Leto is being eyed for the role of The Joker, and that Margot Robbie is being cast as Harley Quinn.

Tom Hardy, who has been mentioned since the rumors started, is likely a candidate to appear in the role of Rick Flag. Will Smith has also been a subject of casting rumors, but his role is still up in the air. Although sources speculate he may be up for the role of Captain Boomerang.

Everyone mentioned so far is in some stage of talks or negotiations now with Warner Bros., and hopefully we’ll get some concrete casting news soon.

It’s also been reported that Jesse Eisenberg may also be returning as Lex Luthor in Suicide Squad, following his portrayal of him in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Should the movie be successful enough it could result in stand alone movie projects for some of the Squad members.
