There’s no way around the fact that catcher has been a complete mess in fantasy baseball this season. Sleepers have stayed asleep and studs have been shelved or ineffective. It’s time to shake up your roster before it’s too late. Below are three catchers available in over 50% of Yahoo! leagues, with one available in over 90% of leagues to help sort out what has been a dreadful position this year.

Austin Hedges, San Diego (35% owned)
Hedges carries an unimpressive overall batting average (.205), but he has dragged that up over the last couple of weeks where he’s hit .289. His 15 RBI and 9 runs overall counting numbers more than overcome the dismal average. His six dingers definitely stand out, as well (they lead the position). The entire package is currently the number four overall catcher in standard leagues, and he’s on the wire in 65% of leagues.

Wilson Ramos, Tampa Bay (14% owned)
There is palpable desperation among fantasy baseball players for catchers. No players better signifies that than Ramos, whose best case scenario is early June. He’s owned in more leagues than catchers whole are currently available in leagues. He’s also one of the better options among sub-50% ownership catchers. The powerful hitter is on the mend aas he returns from a knee injury. He is still on-track to return in early June, and given the rest of the position, he might just be the #1 catcher from the moment he returns to the end of the season.

Miguel Montero, Cubs (2% owned)
This play calls out to just one owner in each league: the Willson Contreras owner. Joe Madden turned the catcher position into a full-on platoon between Contreras and Montero. Unfortunately for Contreras owners, Montero has seized the opportunity. Over the last 14 days, Montero has a .591 average with two dingers, nine RBI and six runs scored. That makes him the #3 catcher over that span. Over that same timeframe, Contreras has a .258 average with one home run, four runs and five RBI. Mash those two together in a platoon and you have a heck of a catcher.
