The San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks will meet Sunday in what is expected to be a big game for both teams. The 49ers are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Panthers and the Seahawks will look to rebound after a close loss to the Rams. But all eyes will be focused on 49ers RB, Carlos Hyde, and his Fantasy Football output.

Hyde will face one of the stingiest defenses in the Seahawks. Last week against the Panthers he ran for 34 yards and zero touchdowns for a paltry 3.20 FFP. The Seahawks rush defense is 3rd in the NFL. Here is why we should fade Hyde (I have him on my roster as well). Seattle is one of the best run stoppers in the NFL and while they did give up 112 rushing yards to the Dolphins they more than made up for that against Todd Gurley and the Rams, with 67.

The issue that Hyde will face against the Seahawks is the same that he faced against the Panthers. The opposition’s offense. The 49ers do not have the weapons that Seattle has at their disposal. The defense had no answer for Cam Newton, and with Russell Wilson next on the list, with a similar playing style, the Niners may be in for more of the same.

If the Seahawks offense can move the ball and score at will as expected then that changes the 49ers gameplan. Hyde will face the same issue that all good runners do when the games is out of hand. If their team falls behind they will be forced to throw the ball, thus resulting in fewer touches out the backfield.

The Seahawks will start the game loading the box, with anticipation of stopping Hyde. If Wilson can get the Seahawks out to an early lead, Chip Kelly will be forced to lean on the arm of Blaine Gabbert against a secondary that has put the clamps on many productive receivers. The week 3 matchup is not in favor of Hyde owners. He should be faded at all cost.
