With a reprieve from bye weeks, your fantasy football squads should be at full strength. However, with top wide receiver options suspended (Alshon Jeffery) or injured (A.J. Green), you may need to be a streaming option for this week. Luckily, since there are no teams on bye, so we have a full slate of streaming options in front of us. Just like the eleven previous weeks of our sleeper wide receivers, these are owned in 50% or fewer of Yahoo! Leagues, as well as one wide receiver, owned in less than 10% of leagues for deeper leagues.[embedit snippet=”jeff-ads”]
Tyler Boyd (49% owned) at Baltimore
There are three camps when it comes to replacing A.J. Green’s production at wide receiver: the Tyler Boyd camp, the Brandon LaFell camp and the “you can’t replace A.J. Green’s production” camp. While I believe the Bengals’ offense will be significantly reduced without both Green and Giovani Bernard, the targets have to go somewhere. LaFell has a chronic case of the dropsies and couldn’t even be fantasy relevant in the prolific New England offense last season.
If you need six points, go for LaFell, but if you need upside, go Boyd. He may not hit that, but he’s the home run play in the Bengals passing game. The Ravens give up the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers on the year, and are fresh off giving up three touchdowns to the Cowboys last week. While the Bengals are the Cowboys, Baltimore has given up multiple TDs or 100 yards and a TD to two different WRs five times this season.
Tajae Sharpe (19% owned) at Chicago
Look, I know. I know. Tajae was a fixture of this column and did not produce for what felt like six months in a row. I was one of the last holdouts who believed that Tajae could #MakeAmericaSharpeAgain. Now that I have given up on him, however, he comes out and puts up back-to-back 12.8 fantasy point performances on identical 68 yards, 1 touchdown stat lines.
Don’t look now, but he’s gotten 19 targets over his last three games and is the most recent beneficiary of the suddenly competent Titans’ passing game. He had all kinds of buzz going into the year, and was the Titans #1 WR to start the season. The Titans take on a Bears team that gives up the third-most fantasy points to wide receivers on the year, including six double-digit fantasy point games in the last four games to WRs.
Kenny Stills (8%) owned versus San Francisco
Stills is traditionally thought of as the deep option who gets 3-4 targets a game in this Miami passing game. While that is is primary role, he has seen eight or more targets in two of his last four games (though the middle two went for one target and three targets). Stills represents the only real deep threat option in the Miami offense, and with the 49ers likely selling out to stop the suddenly great DeVante Parker, and with safety Eric Reid shelved, that leaves Stills an easy path to get behind the defense.
The 49ers’ pass rush won’t get to Tannehill, despite a banged up line. The Niners give up the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers on the season, including giving seven wide receivers double-digit fantasy points in their last four games. Stills is listed as questionable this week, but he should be good to go in a juicy matchup.
