The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, snap a six-game losing streak on Saturday night, defeating the Corpus Christi Hooks 3-1. Texas Rangers pitcher Tyson Ross made his second rehab start with the RoughRiders, helping to dominate the Hooks batters. The club was swept in their last series, against the Midland RockHounds, but avoid the chance of a sweep in this series with Saturday’s victory.

Ross, in his second rehab start with the RoughRiders, tossed seven innings of outstanding baseball. He allowed four hits and one run (earned) while walking two and striking out eight. Ross had an occasional issue with command and control at times. It was nothing to consider serious, but it may convince the Rangers to have him make a third rehab start with the RoughRiders.

Cody Palmquist and Nick Gardewine pitched in relief. They each threw one inning, allowing no hits and no runs.

The fourth inning was key for the RoughRiders and led to their run production. Andy Ibanez started the action with a sacrifice fly that scored one. Jose Cardona followed with a two-run double, putting the RoughRiders ahead 3-0.
