I’ve had the opportunity to work with and see hundreds (if not thousands) of different motorcycle wrap materials over the last decade.
Matte black. Brushed metallic finishes. Forged carbon weaves. Mirror chrome. There are so many beautiful looking wraps options available now. Sure most of them look pretty impressive online and in pictures.
But when you actually see them installed on motorcycles in person, only a handful truly wow you. That’s what happened when I first got my hands on Galaxy Holographic Motorcycle Vinyl…
Imagine my surprise when I saw Galaxy installed on a sport bike for the first time at night.
I could have sworn there was custom lighting inside the paint. Street lamps reflected off the surface creating a dynamic galaxy-like pattern full of swirling blues, purples, silver flakes, and rainbow sparkles that shifted every time the bike leaned or moved.
It barely even looked like a vinyl wrap.
It was that impressive.
This was when I knew Galaxy Holographic Motorcycle Vinyl was more than just a “color” option. It was an entirely different game changer that transforms the personality of your bike.
What Is Galaxy Holographic Motorcycle Vinyl?
Galaxy holographic motorcycle vinyl is a specialty wrap film infused with holographic reflective particles that shifts color when moved. It also has unique galaxy style patterns integrated into the surface.
Instead of simply reflecting light like gloss or chrome finishes, galaxy vinyl creates a multidimensional visual depth that can resemble stars, cosmic dust, or flowing nebula visual effects when installed on motorcycles.
The way the material sparkles and shifts depends on the type of film you choose. Some galaxy holographic motorcycle vinyl has more of a subtle sparkling appearance.
Others have an intense rainbow reflection that dramatically shifts as you ride.

Benefits of Galaxy Vinyl
Put simply. Galaxy holographic vinyl wraps look completely different at different times of the day. In direct sunlight, wrapped motorcycles become super vibrant and reflective. Here are some other reasons why I know riders are loving galaxy vinyl wraps…
Galaxy vinyl just looks awesome! Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of cool-looking wraps out there.
I loved seeing how much detail you could really see when looking up close. A lot of high quality galaxy holographic wraps have tiny reflective flakes that resemble a starfield when viewing from a distance. The sleek futuristic look you see from far away becomes even more badass when you examine the vinyl up close.
It creates a perfect blend of artsy aesthetics. You can even use small accents to make a huge impact.
Wrap The Entire Bike Or Just Use Galaxy Accents?
I think one of my favorite applications of galaxy vinyl is using it to wrap small areas of a bike. Or using it to create custom pinstripes.
Because motorcycle fuel tanks and side fairings have so many curves, wrapping them with galaxy vinyl gives them a somewhat 3D appearance.
It’s as close as you can get to turning a flat sheet of vinyl into a textured wrapping that actually looks like you added some dimension to the surface of your motorcycle.
Are All Galaxy Vinyl Wraps The Same?
Believe it or not, when I first started using galaxy holographic vinyl I didn’t realize there was much difference between brands.
I thought all holographic wraps kind of looked the same.
Boy was I wrong…
Just like color choice, the galaxy pattern you select matters more than most people realize at first. While all galaxy vinyl has that distinctive reflective property, not all galaxy holographic vinyl wraps are created equal.
If you look closely at the surface, some are darker and deeper. While other areas will flash bright rainbow colors as the light hits them. It creates a much more premium look than your average metallic wraps. This is especially true on motorcycles.
Because of all the curves on sport bikes and custom motorcycles, wrapping your fuel tank or side fairings with galaxy holographic vinyl creates a really cool multi-dimensional look that stands out from other shiny metallic wraps.
Best Places To Install Galaxy Holographic Vinyl On Motorcycles
The more I’ve worked with galaxy holographic vinyl, the more I’ve noticed that some areas of the motorcycle show off the vinyl better than others.
Hands down the best place to use galaxy vinyl is on the fuel tank.
Sidekick Fuel Tank Installed With Galaxy Vinyl
They have the largest flat surfaces and always catch the light.
Using galaxy vinyl on motorcycle fairings is also super popular.
Side fairings have sharp angles that accentuate the holographic shine even more.
Motorcyclists have also used galaxy vinyl on:
- Helmet
- Side Panels
- Windshield
- Accent Stripes
- Tail section
- Wheels
- Racing Stripes
- Graphics
- Decals
You don’t always need to do a full wrap to make a statement.
As I mentioned before, some of the best looking galaxy applications are actually small accents that draw more attention to certain areas of your bike. They can even create a cleaner, more expensive look than fully wrapping your motorcycle.
Installing Galaxy Vinyl. Surface prep is key when installing galaxy holographic motorcycle vinyl.
Things I learned the hard way when wrapping with galaxy vinyl:
Make sure you clean your surfaces more than once. Don’t skip this step.
Use a soft applicator when installing galaxy vinyl. A plastic_APPLICATION_TOOL makes a big difference.
Be careful using heat near edges. You don’t want to overstretch the vinyl.
Stretch the material as little as possible.
Pay extra attention to corners and edges.
Honestly, taking your time will save you a headache in the long run.
Inexpensive vs Quality Galaxy Vinyl
If you’ve ever installed a full color wrap before, this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
But if you’re thinking about skimping on your galaxy vinyl material…don’t.
Cheap holographic vinyl can look pretty good when you unroll it. But you always notice the problems later. Premium quality galaxy holographic motorcycle vinyl feels and looks like a completely different product.
The pattern shines brighter, stretches more evenly, and the adhesive actually works properly. Higher quality vinyl also lasts longer before starting to fade if you ride your motorcycle outdoors.
Why Riders Are Starting To Use Galaxy Vinyl Wraps So Much
I’m always interested to see how motorcycle trends change over time. What we see trending on social media might not always be what riders purchase at the local dealership.
But there’s one trend that has remained constant over the last few years:
Motorcyclists want their bikes to stand out when sharing photos online and in person.
Galaxy holographic vinyl makes taking photos a total blast because every picture turns out different.
Depending on the angle you shoot from, the lighting, and even how you position your bike, galaxy vinyl always photographs super well.
It grabs people’s attention without needing crazy graphics, color blocking, or expensive paint jobs. Galaxy holographic vinyl is unlike any other wrap material I’ve had the opportunity to work with.
The combination of swirling holographic shine, galaxy-style flakes, sparkling rainbow highlights, and mirror shine create a wrap finish that looks like something from the future.
Instead of having a wrap color that only looks one specific way, galaxy motorcycle vinyl transforms as you ride and view it from different angles.
THAT is what makes galaxy vinyl so badass.
