INSCMagazine: Get Social!

By Michelle Grayson

With the winter and the festive season upon us, there is this usual buzz about fashion trends for the ladies. However, the fashion shows held in London, Milan, and Paris just a few months ago have shown that there are lots that men can look forward to this winter.

Some glimpses of what the trendy male could sizzle in:

Copper

While the autumn/winter collections do reveal the usual representation of blues, blacks, dark greens, and grays, the color that really made a splash was copper. This hue looks to be the new trend this winter and you should really think about including quite a few items in this rich color in your winter wardrobe.

Layered Look with a Polo Shirt

If the thought of wearing your sweatshirts in the winters gives you the goose pimples, then you can add an insulation layer with a knitted polo shirt. Many of the recent fashion shows have showcased this practice in a variety of ways ranging from wearing them over T-shirts or shirts as well as under sporty suits. To get the best effect, try opting for polo shirts, a nice red fleece pullover, in solid colors with a fine weave and minimal branding. This will also permit you to make your existing wardrobe more versatile.

Elaborate Bomber Jackets

Bomber jackets have been in fashion for as long as anybody can care to think, however, this season they are back with a big difference. They have become really high-end fashion statements as they are manufactured using luxurious leathers, velvets, and even wools and made distinctive with elaborate embellishments worked right into the designs.

Pyjama Suits

The days are long gone when pyjamas were only nightwear. Now you have the international catwalks sizzling with svelte models slipping on the classic apparel, often a kurta pyjama combination as a salute to the great Indian fashion tradition that has ruled the subcontinent for centuries.

Duffle Coats

This year promises to be one where the old, trusted and familiar duffel coat will once again hold the fort. While camel is perennially the most popular color, this year leading designers have not been averse to playing with different colors, even the length of the sleeves and using synthetic materials

Neckerchiefs

One of the biggest issues about winter fashion is how to keep warm while looking stylish. Instead of using the clumsy woolen scarves, many designers are advocating the use of neckerchiefs as was evident from the catwalks in Paris, London, and Milan this year. A cotton silk mixed fabric in vibrant colors seems to be trending this winter. You could just let it hang loose on your shoulders after tying it like a bandana.

Silky Shine Is In

In every fashion show if there is anything that is common across designers then it is their love for shiny materials, especially silk that is adored for its beautiful looks and drape. This season too, you could spot silk shirts aplenty and there are no prizes for guessing that they would remain one of the most popular items this winter. Wear it paired with a suit or strike a different pose combining it with leather trousers or nylon windcheaters, there’s no way that people will miss out your attitude towards casual yet elegant fashion.

Conclusion

This winter promises to be a very exciting time as far as the fashion trends for men are concerned. On one hand, you have the rise of traditional apparel with a twist while on the other, classic silks and neckerchiefs making a rather unexpected appearance and lending the wearer an extra oomph.
