Among the countless events that accompany Monaco’s Formula 1 festivities, few have experienced the growth and influence of SUNSET.
Over thirteen editions, the beachfront gathering has evolved into an internationally recognized celebration that merges music, art, gastronomy and Riviera culture. Today, securing an invitation has become one of the most sought-after opportunities of Grand Prix weekend.
The concept was developed by Thomas Peeters and Cédric Houdrouge, two entrepreneurs who saw an opportunity to create something different from the conventional luxury events dominating Monaco’s social calendar.
Instead of focusing solely on prestige, they built an environment designed around shared experiences and genuine connection. That vision continues to guide the event as it prepares for its 2026 return.
Scheduled for June 5–7 at Le Méridien Beach Plaza, SUNSET will unveil Casa SUNSET x Mauro Colagreco, a new culinary collaboration that adds another dimension to the festival’s expanding identity.
“Since 2013, each edition has been designed to refine the experience and push it further,” says Thomas Peeters. “With Casa SUNSET x Mauro Colagreco, SUNSET 2026 marks a new milestone and opens a new chapter.”
The founders have consistently challenged expectations surrounding Grand Prix hospitality. Their formula favors open-air experiences, relaxed elegance and immersive entertainment over rigid exclusivity.
Visitors this year will encounter new scenic designs, large-scale artistic installations and interactive beachfront programming. The reimagined La Petite Plage experience will further emphasize local culture and Riviera-inspired creativity.
Houdrouge’s extensive exposure to fashion, international business and music scenes has played a major role in shaping the event’s cultural identity. Peeters brings experience across entrepreneurship, consulting and entertainment, helping transform ambitious ideas into enduring success.
Together they have created a platform that feels deeply rooted in Monaco while maintaining broad international appeal.
Throughout SUNSET 2026, guests will experience performances from global and regional artists, contemporary visual art and gourmet dining experiences that transition naturally into late-night celebrations.
“Choosing Mauro Colagreco felt entirely natural,” says Cédric Houdrouge. “At the helm of Mirazur, voted the world’s best restaurant, he embodies a cuisine that is exacting, sensitive and profoundly open to the world — in perfect resonance with the DNA of SUNSET. With Casa SUNSET x Mauro Colagreco, we share the same vision: an experience that is international, elegant and alive.”

The addition of Casa SUNSET reflects the event’s ongoing evolution into a complete luxury lifestyle destination.
Music remains at the center of the experience, however, and organizers continue to treat programming as one of the event’s defining elements.
“The artist selection is approached with great precision, always driven by the desire to create an energy that feels both immersive and unforgettable,” explains Houdrouge. “What we seek are those suspended moments where the music, the setting and the crowd become one. Rare and precious moments that stay with people long after SUNSET is over.”
That formula has attracted an impressive roster of attendees over the years, including Justin Bieber, Bella Hadid, Adrien Brody, Jason Derulo, Bob Sinclar, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc.
SUNSET’s rise mirrors larger changes taking place within the luxury sector. Increasingly, travelers value experiences that generate lasting memories rather than simply offering exclusivity.
By combining artistic expression, world-class cuisine and a vibrant social atmosphere, SUNSET delivers exactly that. As Monaco welcomes another Formula 1 season, the event stands as one of the principality’s most distinctive cultural experiences—and for many guests, the highlight of the entire weekend.
