Setting Up Siri 

First of all, make sure that your watch has internet access so that it can fetch information. Take the following steps:

  • Settings
  • General 
  • Siri 

Now you can turn Hey Siri and Raise To Speak on or off. 

If yours is Series 3 or 4, go to the Settings section and then Voice Feedback. There you can control Siri. Siri can respond in different ways such as with headphones in or all the time.

You can also change Siri’s voice using your iPhone. Take the following steps:

  1. Siri & Search      
  2. Siri Voice 

Now you can select one. When the watch syncs to your iPhone. It will be automatically updated on the watch. 

Activating Siri 

You need to do only a few things to start asking questions. 

Push the Digital Crown 

Hold down the Digital Crown for a few seconds. Release the Digital Crown when you see the listening indicator. 

You can also make a sound to make Siri respond. You cannot edit or type out requests on your Apple Watch. Therefore, you will have to speak. 

Hey Siri 

Another easiest way to activate Siri by saying “Hey Siri”. When Siri wakes up, you can see the listening indicator on the screen. 

Raise Your Wrist 

Don’t want to say “Hey Siri”? Simply raise your wrist and you will see Siri’s listening indicator. Make sure that this is enabled on your watch. Take the following steps to enable ‘Raise To Speak’:

  • Settings 
  • General 
  • Siri 
  • Raise To Speak  

Siri Commands 

After saying ‘Hey Siri’ or activating Siri using some other way, you can use more than the following commands: 

  • “Turn on my lights”
  • “Call [contact]”
  • “Turn on Airplane mode”
  • “Send a message to [contact]”
  • “What time is it in [location]”
  • “What is the weather in [location]”
  • “Turn down the volume by [%]”
  • “Set a timer for [time] minutes”

There are many more commands you can use. 

Adding Siri to Watch face 

You can also access Siri by choosing it as a complication. Now you simply need to tap the icon to access the listening indicator. 

There is a Siri watch face as well. This watch face comes with a lot of information such as your reminders, sunset/sunrise times, local weather etc. 

When Siri does not respond 

You may experience some miscommunication with Siri. You will have to deal with it. There are some ways to address it when this happens due to some minor issue. Try the following: 

  • Make sure that the watch is connected to the internet. 
  • Make sure that Siri is turned on on the connected iPhone. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone. Go to Siri & Search. Turn Listen for “Hey Siri” on. 
  • Make sure that “Hey Siri” is turned on on the watch. Launch Settings app. Go to General and then Siri. 
  • Turn off and then turn on Listen for “Hey Siri” on your iPhone. 
  • Make sure that there is no debris blocking the speaker or microphone of the watch.
