This story I am about to tell is the first time I have told this story as I have never gone into full detail on why I got back into watching wrestling.

When I was five years old, I would watch WWE with my father. However, this was during the Attitude Era, and I did not understand a lot of what was going on. Then I stopped watching around 2001/2002. This would have been considered the period between the Attitude Era and the Era when John Cena, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, and Batista would debut. I then did not watch for the next eleven years.

In the fall of 2013, I went away to school and through one of my roommates being a fan, I slowly got back into it. However, there was one wrestler who I became a fan of who got me back into wrestling. The wrestler was Daniel Bryan, and it was the storyline heading into Wrestlemania 30. The storyline was simple; you had someone who was trying to make it to the top of WWE and was being told he couldn’t because he didn’t have the look or the charisma to be a main- event wrestler. Eventually, he overcame the Authority and won the title.

Why do I bring this up? I bring it up for one major reason, like many other wrestling fans, I can relate to Daniel Bryan. Over my life, I have been trying to climb the ladder to get to the top, and I have been told I don’t have what it has to get to the top. I am climbing that ladder and proving people who doubted me wrong. That storyline taught me never to stop going for what I want. I should not strive for something because it is out of my league. Also, this storyline gave me a little bit of confidence that I could face any challenge that is thrown at me. Also, it showed me that no woman is out of my league.

Overall thank you, Daniel Bryan, for showing a generation of people that even though it may take a bit of work, you can achieve anything in your life.
