Week 11 of the College Football season is now in the books and this has been one of the best seasons in recent memory. We’ve seen teams like Tennessee and TCU take some big steps forward, while teams like Clemson have faltered. It’s time to start looking forward to conference championship games and even further if you’re lucky. Let’s take a look at the ACC recap for week 11.
Clemson (10) vs Louisville
Coming into the week the Tigers fell all the way down to 10th in the rankings after losing to unranked Notre Dame. This week Clemson bounced back taking it to their conference foe Louisville and winning 31-16 in Death Valley. Clemson may have fallen from the graces but expect them to at the very least play spoiler the remainder of the year. The Cardinals will sneak into a bowl game this season currently sitting at 6-3 on the year.
North Carolina (15) vs Wake Forest
The Tar Heels have been nothing short of fun this season. Drake Maye has solidified himself as a Heisman hopeful and could easily get an invite to New York this year. They managed to knock off Wake Forest 36-34 in a thrilling ACC matchup. If the Heels can win out and capture the ACC Championship they could be a Playoff team. As for the Demon Deacons they fall to 6-4 on the year after what was a good start.
Boston College vs NC State (16)
In a season full of ups and downs the Wolfpack haven’t been able to find consistency. After knocking off a ranked Wake Forest team two weeks ago they fell to an unranked Boston College team this week. A once prominent team has now fallen 24th in the rankings and may not be ranked by the end of the season. At this point the Golden Eagles are just finishing off their season. There’s no hope for any bowl but could upset the Fighting Irish this coming weekend.
Florida State (23) vs Syracuse
The Seminoles rolled into Syracuse to play the Orange and came out victorious and did so rather easily. FSU made it look easy and even though they won’t be in contention for the ACC Championship they could be building in the right direction for the next few years. As for the ‘Cuse they had an interesting season making it all the way to 14th in the ranking before losing four games in a row.
Virginia Tech vs Duke
Duke hosted the Virginia Tech Hokies this past week and won in convincing fashion. A 24-7 victory moved the Blue Devils to 7-3 on the season. Somehow the Hokies kept it close until the 3rd quarter when the Devils took over. The Hokies simply aren’t a good team sitting at 2-8 on the year. They wrap their season up against Liberty this week and look to add one more win for the year.
Pitt vs Virginia
First off thoughts and prayers go out to the University of Virginia and the Cavaliers football team. To the families of Lavel Davis Jr, Davin Chandler, and D’Sean Perry we as a sports community stand with you guys. As for the game the Pitt Panthers made themselves bowl eligible with a win improving to 6-4 on the year. The Cavs fell to 3-7 on the season and as of now will not play this weekend against Coastal Carolina but may cancel the game against the Hokies in two weeks as well.
Miami vs Georgia Tech
Miami inches their way closer to bowl eligibility with a 35-14 win over Georgia Tech. The Hurricanes play number 9 Clemson this week and could spoil the Tigers hopes of making the playoffs if they pull a stunner at Clemson, then wrap their season up at home against Pitt. As for Georgia Tech they have an uphill battle in order to meet bowl eligibility requirements with a game this week against North Carolina, and end their season taking on Georgia in Athens.
