Kill ’em Now is a new Western comedy directed by filmmaker Ryan J Serrano with Joan James Muixi starring as Bounty Hunter, “No Name”.
The film follows a mysterious Bounty Hunter who must help a culturally stagnated, yet hysterical group of Town Folk muster every bit of strength to defeat a band of dangerous thugs in order to earn an undisclosed payday of a lifetime. It is up to him and some old fart to get their own fearful pastor to face his past and keep the town from folding onto itself.
Joan James Muixi is known for playing tormented characters with a dark past as well as detached outsiders; as seen in some of his roles such as the popular video game character Max Payne, the homicide detective in a quest for vengeance in Max Payne Retribution; also as laser focused and mysterious lone professional hitmen in films like The Adversary and Lehrling or as a corrupt narc detective in Silver Shot.
There is no doubt that Joan James is a very unique actor with leading man chiseled good looks, strong screen presence and a sense of cool, calm and collected stillness that strongly registers on screen.
There is a very distinct mysterious quality to the aura of Joan James that makes the often morally questionable antiheroes he plays hard to read, which translates into very compelling performances.
Perfectly cast as “No Name” in Kill ’em Now by Director Ryan J Serrano, Joan James delivers a strong, self-contained performance as the aloof and gritty no-nonsense bounty hunter with solemn composure, all embodies with a physicality that is reminiscent of the classic spaghetti Westerns.
No Name is a complex antihero, a man of a few words that doesn’t consider anything sacred; will this money seeking outlaw learn something new upon his contact with the eccentric townsfolk?
With a few projects on the pipeline, among them two feature films and a TV series, it looks like we are going to see much more of Joan James, the European actor undoubtedly has an old Hollywood throwback essence about him.

The movie also has a cast of eccentric and diverse characters, each with their own story and there’s a fun juxtaposition between the straight man, the serious and no nonsense No Name and the fun and animated Townsfolk as well as the outlandish criminal gang.
As previously mentioned Kill ’em Now is written, directed and produced by multi talented and artistic filmmaker, Ryan J Serrano, who is an actor as well, plays the lead antagonist, delivering a performance full of energy, unpredictability and compexity as the dangerous gang leader Skrill.
The born in Los Angeles creative is an instinctive filmmaker with a background as an artist and the world of comedy; Serrano, an original filmmaker who’s been inspired by the likes of Quentin Tarantino, manages to find a way to inject plenty of humor and depth into his writing into an overall balanced movie that never ceases to entertain.
Under his production company Palamore Productions, Serrano, who is crafting his next project, has created with Kill ’em Now, an ambitious and fun fusion of comedy, action and drama set in the Wild West.
We highly recommend Serrano’s Western take and his collaboration with Muixi as the lone bounty hunter and the ensemble cast of Kill ‘em Now to any movie buff who enjoys an entertaining story set in the old West with plenty of good humor and originality.
