INSCMagazine: Get Social!

All too often, it can be easy to get swept-up in a busy lifestyle; with family, work, and social commitments, sometimes you can forget to check-in on yourself. Before you know it, you’ve been saying yes to pleasing everyone around you, and that can sometimes have a detrimental effect on your own wellbeing.

However, not taking care of yourself, and forgetting to prioritize your happiness, can have more serious effect than simply putting you in a bad mood.

Stress and fatigue can both be debilitating, and they can trigger a number of other health conditions. Therefore, it’s time to start thinking about your mental and physical health, and ensuring that you’re making the most of your time to bring yourself happiness and joy.

The more you enjoy your days, weeks, and months, the less stress you’ll feel, even when you’ve got a lot of hard work to do. So, it’s time to sit down and think about what you do with your time, that makes you the most happy, and how you can begin to improve things step-by-step. The following are some ideas, inspiration, and advice for those who feel like they may have lost their sparkle, but feel ready to do what’s needed to shine again.

It’s Never To Late

If you feel like you’ve been stuck in your comfort zone, but have always thought about taking on a challenge, or enriching your life with something new; just do it. There’s no better time than right now, to address what you feel is holding you back. Perhaps it’s your current job role or career choice that’s upsetting you; if you feel like you need to add to your qualifications, or change direction, it’s never too late.

You’ll spend the majority of your week in your place of work, so it’s crucial that you get as much satisfaction and fulfilment from it as possible. So, whether you start to look for the right NNP program so that you can specialize in something you’re passionate about, or you quit your day job to teacher train; you won’t regret it during the years ahead.

Embrace The Positive, Let Go Of The Negative

You can sometimes feel obliged to see and hang-out with certain people, because they’re people you’ve known for years. However, if any of the people in your life don’t make you happy, or, worse yet, upset you regularly; it’s okay to let them go. Obviously, there’s not much you can do about your boss’s Monday mood; however, nobody is forcing you to spend time with a toxic, selfish, or thoughtless (so-called) friend regularly. If you genuinely care about a relationship, it’s time to address any issues that make you feel bad.

And, if a relationship only brings you stress; walk away. Hang around those that make you smile and laugh, listeners, and those who you feel genuinely care and give the best advice. Life is too short to stay in negative situations or force yourself to be polite to those you don’t like or trust. Therefore, make sure that you’re seeking joy and doing what makes you happy; self care is not selfish.
